UMSWE is still the best easiest around, if you want an editor that's more difficult to use but has more options/customizations, i suggest JASS. |

Let me be a extra editor hating mod for a second here: You shouldnt really use the extra editors because they have those extra functions that crash the normal WE; they will have trouble updating maps with the newest patch; and all of those extra functions are doable in JASS rather easily. [/EXTRAEDITORHATINGMOD] Its your choice really, but you risk losing info with the next patch and heavily annoying anyone who opens it with the real editor. And I think WE is the best editor. Oh well. No offense to anyone who doesnt like WEU/UMSWE; I was just showing both sides of the argument. Edit: Uh..... JASS isnt an editor. |

I recommend standard World Editor, because in that you won't get any compatability issues, and your map is alot less likely to break during patches. |

Yeah, World Editor supports any newbie to mapping but it really lacks some useful things. Like the Special Effects, is the main reason anyone would normally want to use something like the WE Mods. But then again the Multi Boards are cool, along with the Extra Terrain Tiles. And a lot of the time someone not being to open it with the regular WE Editor can be a good thing. People trying to steal peoples map's these days :o . Anyways what you want to do is your choice. Though I wouldn't reccomend any WE Mods if your new to editing. If you aren't new I would look into WEU, the links on my sig I think. They have some really neat extra stuff put into their Mod. |
