Maybe because its illegal? You can only get a trial version at http://www4.discreet.com/3dsmax/3dsmax.php?id=403. Best you can get. Greets |

you realy want to talk with us about some illegal stuff? 3dsmax costs over 3000$ so ther is no free full version! you only can buy it! or get a 30 days trial version! all other ways are illegal! and no! you cant buy a copy or get for free, because you need an authorisation code to use 3dsmax u get it from discreet! |

Why not try Gmax? It's free and has a lot of the same options that 3ds max has. |

How can you even think of talking about illegal stuff on public forums ? Now, I know 3DSMAX 5 is very expensive and all, but you can try a variety of other programs which are free and more user friendly (albeit some with limited options). If you are adamant on getting 3dsmax, then try shopping sites like e-bay for second hand copies... I saw 3DSMAX 5 on ebay with a starting bid of 1 UK pound !! -Talos_911 |

Gmax is free and has alot of the same options as 3ds. Or you can float around getting trial versions of different programs and hope to complete a model. |

Save and Splurge... Or get some sort of sponsor program going.. I heard someone got their company to pay for it. Someone went door to door asking for donations because they needed it for school (university) and they wanted to have their own version at home. Later to find out that the university gave them a free learning version. Then they had to return all the money :D funny but still. I just saved, and bought, saved and bought, saved and bought. 3 Versions (4r2, 5.1, 6... I think those are the correct numbers...) Although later to find out that I CAN'T USE THE WC3 TOOLS IN 6!!!!!! But it is still handy for my other art stuff :D |
