Wow. I never thought this could be possible. I've just seen the map called Dark Lineage Owen 0.3 (get it from here: http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Maps&ID=1010&sid= ) and i've noticed they've been able to make a full screen when the map loads, and still retain those loading bars for each player (not "Press any key to continue" bar). How is that possible ? That map is protected, i can't take a look. Can you pls let me know how can this be done ? I know 3 methods by now. One is using those Monnolith models (results in Press any key to continue loading bar), other is that 100K .blp loader (same result) and the third is by adding war3mapPreivew.tga (that allows you to see the loading bars for each player, but it's not full screen - only the minimap is changed). So, how is this done ? Thx in advance for helping ! |

they edited the generic loading screen and imported the correct stuff (which ends up with about 3 meg of imported files) |

nothing better is possible, thats why their map is so big, it requires u to import 4 512 x 512 (not sure about dimensions) tga's that are about 500 - 900 kb each. Actually, i just had a thought, it might be theoretically possible to replace the normal generic loading screen model with the one that uses a single .blp but i'm not sure if it'd work or how to go about it. |

Hmm, i also thought about some ways, but couldn't find the files using W3Viewer. For example, i was thinking to select in map properties as normal Loading Screen for example: Tutorial 1. And to simply modify one of the textures needed for Tutorial 1 loading screen, then implant it into the map... but i have 2 problems: 1. don't know if it will work (load one texture from my map and the other 3 from w3 normal textures) 2. don't know where the files needed for that generic screen are. I tried to modify for example AshenvaleExpansion-BotLeft.blp, implanted it, but then notified at loading time using different graphic.. There must be a way.... i am sure... C'mon.. Guru's of the WC3Campaign, where are u ? |

EDIT: Well, i managed to modify some Tutorial-TopLeft.blp and then selecting "USE CAMPAIGN SCREEN: Tutorial 1" WORKED !!! But now, remain only one problem: HOW CAN I ENABLE THOSE LOADING BARS, FOR EACH PLAYER LOADING ??? :( :( :( |

I don't think you can get those loading bars unless you use a modified melee game loading screen. |

Hey, Pheonix there was a tutorial released about using just one .blp for the loading screen. Monky: You can always lower the quality of the image if you were concerned about it's size. |

Can't you edit the loading screen model so it can use blp instead of tga? |

Yea there's a way to do it with just 1 100kb blp instead of 4 .tga files. The quality isn't as good though. There's a tutorial somewhere about it. |

Oh, I was replying to jeltz anyways. The Melee Map loading screen is a different .mdl than the custom ones. Pheonix obviously knows more about is but my point is that since it is done in a completely different way, I don't think there's an easy way around it. |

somewhere in the mpq is the mdl the generic loading screen uses, if you can find this and replace it it "should" work, i dont know, i've never tryed to edit it before. Look thru the RoC mpq with winmpq and search thru the models. |
