I don't know about him, but I've been trying to to replace Illidian's select/move/attack responses.

Yes, that would be really cool.
Although I'm pretty sure you can do it with editing som *.slk file

Someone on another forum told me you could do it with the sound editor and unit editor. Didn't say how though :/

u can also do with trigs.

Event:
-Player 1 clicks on unit
Action:
-Play sound customvoice.mp3

dont forget to sepcify wich unit and set variables.

I tried that a while ago :/ it seemed to work ok (except for the fact that it played for all players, not just the one who clicked on it), but it didn't behave like normal unit voices (for example, if you double clicked somewhere, he would say two things, instead of waiting until the first voice was finished).

ROK had a new MPQ amongst technical things, but I thought there would be an easier way to do this. I wonder if anyone could make a tutorial for this... we'll see.

for the playing for all players thing, you could make a condition that player 1 owns unit or something to that effect

so you have to edit SLKs to add custom unit voices?

Not necesarily, but if you want them to seem professional you'll need to edit the .slk files, if you just want to add some real quick I'd suggest using triggers. I might write up a quick trigg tutorial on how to make it work :) :ggani:

if you just want to replace sounds then all you need to do is import the sound with the same name as the sound you want replace dont you?
