Yogbul's File Converter Problem.

I'm trying to convert a model to .mdx from .mdl using Yogbul's file converter. When I try and convert the file, I get a weird assertion error:

Zoom (requires log in)

I've never came across this error in the 100+ models I've converted using the converter. Is there a limit to polys or triangles the converter can handle? Because I've also never attempted to convert a model with over 2000 polys using this. I don't have use of gmax or 3dsmax because they both crash on my PC, so I may need an alternate method of getting my files into .mdx. Any help?

well this appears to be a problem in the code of the program, i think it may not be made to support converting so many tverts and things, Im not totally sure.

You know of an alternative to convert .mdl files to .mdx without Gmax or 3dsmax?

what version of 3ds Max are you using and what program are you using to export them (PLEASE dont say Dex)

Well, I was using 3dsmax 6, the lastest version. I am modeling in milkshape and using LithUnWrap to unwrap them. I'm using the milkshape Wc3 .mdl exporter (the same I've been using) to export the model.

I tried converting a model of mine with roughly 6000 polys. It didn't convert, but I got another error, the same error I usually get when I make a simple mistake to my model. I don't think the number of poly's is a problem, but I think that the file converter is, and I need it to convert my model.

6000 polies? Jeez unless thats really REALLY big or a terrain model then its too big, and in a Bnet map you wouldnt be able to have anything else....

But, 3ds Max 6, well, 3ds Max is the only effective way of exporting models quickly, and I have 3ds Max 6 too, and the Wc3 Art Tools dont work with it, as they were made for 4 and 5, there are alot of bugs with the MS3d exporter, Ive no clue about it....

It wasn't a Wc3 specific model, just something I did in my spare time. The file size is actually rather small for it. The .mdl is 158kb, and the .mdx is only about 40kb. I'm sure if I removed the animations I could get it in wc3 with no problems ;). But I still can't convert my model to .mdx and I still can't find the problem. I noticed theres a .3ds to .mdx converter out there, so I'll convert it to .3ds and see what I can do with it.

I know this is old, but I found out what the problem was and I just want to get something straight. Yogbul's file converter can convert .mdl files with ANY NUMBER OF POLYS to .mdx. Yogbul's file converter will NOT convert files without bones, however. That was my problem, just got it fixed, and figured I would post incase anyone else had this problem.
