I am making my campaign and am wondering if it is better when I make the heroes in it have the ability to revive (like in Blizzard's campaigns) or to make them unreviveable (for example like in "Rise of Krill") - when your hero gets killed - you loose. |

Guest | Well dude, that depends on what difficulty you want the game to be. If you want it to be very hard, make the heroes not revivable. If you want it to be easier, make the heroes revivable. |

If the mission is like "This or that Hero must survive" people will hide them in their base and never use that hero, and that would be boring, so make the revivable. |

Guest | how about they can revive back to level 1? |

Ceo do you mean that If revivable then they should go back to level 1? I'd rather not make that cuz then I would have to let the heroes gain experience faster to let it have sence. Just think if someone had played the campaign and got to let's say mission 5 and lost his hero and then he would want to revive him but he would go back to level 1. He would rather loadgame and not try to get his hero back to the level he previously got him to UNLESS the experience gaining would be easier. I'd rather not make experience gaining faster (think of a hero in mission 4 at level 10!). Martinez |

Make revivable. It is one of the features of Warcraft 3... In Starcraft, we often hide the heroes deep within the base and only move them when necessary. However, in SC the heroes do not level up or obtain itens. Warcraft 3 without heroes is somewhat boring, as you can't have big armies. Small armies without heroes are too weak. |

Or u can make so the heroes loose all their exp (not losing a lvl just loosing all his exp on his currently lvl) |

bozo - that's a good idea since it won't take his learned abilities away. Anyways I thought of an idea that some heroes will cost more than others (depending on how strong they are). Another idea was to let heroes be reviveable BUT not unlimited times - i mean something like one hero can only be revived x times in a mission. What do you all think? (I should make a new poll i think) -take away experience when died? -revived only x times in a mission? -should hero revive cost more? MartinezTG |

take away the exp and maybe reducing his life |

No... I wouldn't want to play a campaign like that. No pressure! Take away Xp, that's a good one, but not levels or HP. Cost more is also good. |

So as I see most (or maybe all) of you wouldn't want heroes to be unreviveable. Still don't know about that x times max revive limit. The cost will probably depend on the power of the hero (his combat value) which is caused by the fact that user controlled heroes will be rather unbalanced when comparing each other. I still also do not know about that taking away experience thing because it depends on how low the X of "TRIGGER Map Initialization Make player 1 heroes gain X % from future skills" will be which could cause experience gaining alot tougher when for example the X will be 20 + taking away experience when died. Or maybe I'm wrong? emote_confused Maybe X=20 and experience taking away when died might just be fine. Martinez |
