Well why don't I get some use out of this forum! This caster system thing looks like it might be really neat, but I don't understand it yet. I started reading the thread which is supposed to explain what this is all about but it started going into too much detail and I still wasn't getting the point. So...this is basically a package that helps you use a technique of dummy casters to cast spells am I right? I guess what I want to know - since I am all into spell designing and I fell like I am missing something real big here - is what is the purpose of having a dummy caster? Why not just use triggers to directly apply a spell? |

because you cant cast a spell through triggers. units need to cast spells. |

Additionally, the owner of the casting unit wouldn't get any bounty if the spell kills a unit. With the caster system you can easily specify the damage you want to be dealed to the unit and the player gets the bounty. |

Funny, I guess none of my spells have run into this need yet! I have managed with just adding abilities, direct trigger manipulation for the action of the spell, or using the effects of dummy spells cast by the real caster. That does sound usefull about dealing damage and getting kills awarded. How do I do that? I guess I should just get this Caster System and figure it out... |

Simply, by downloading Lord Vexorians castersystem.w3x map and then following the Readme. After you have implented it use the functions, like DamageUnit |

What about going into the Object Editor, switching to the folder Custom Units\Neutral Passive\ and then voila - there is a Caster Unit. You just have to copy it into your map.. |
