Ancient of Time (Temporus Aincientous)

Grok and his boyz were under attack by the warrior women again! Grom had sent them into the forest to scout out the locations of those big trees the women seemed to like so much. They had just set down to camp when an arrow flew out of the trees and took one of the Grunts in the throat. Battle ready in seconds the Orcs charged the Archers, just in time to see them vanish from sight in bright daylight! Stunned by this change of events Grok stared around him, a shifting of wood and stone to the east showed the location of another giant tree, heading around a large rock Grok came face to face with an empty clearing, once again the women had vanished! He was too busy looking at the clearing to notice the large ancient appear behind him, raise its weapon and bring it crashing down into his head...

The battle was short and sharp with the Ancient of Time fighting it. Surfing the Sands of Time as a surfer would a wave, the Ancient simply manipulated time so that when the axe blow landed there, the target was over here.

WIP, i've done the face, horns, the top of the weapon and the totemy things at the back. The weapon looks real wierd, but in game it has a blue spinny glowy orb floating above it, looks really good.

In case ure wondering, this is another skin for DotD

UPDATED!: Finished? Might do something to the totems.

Nice skin, but I don't like the concept. As soon as people begin playing with time, the stories become full of contradictions and unsolvable paradoxes. And time is something I think shouldn't be used in Fantasy, it should be left to SciFy.

updated, i quite specifically left the leaves and stone dark, with no flowers and little wood. I'm trying to get a feeling of darkness, not corrupted\evilness, just dark anger.

Spells

Temporal Flux Innate
Hagdul swung his axe at the big tree, there was a blinding flash as it connected and then to his shock, Hagdul found himself some distance away from the tree, lying on the ground and numb all over.

Temporal Flux is an immolation-like ability (in that you turn it on and it drains mana) While active any unit attacking the Temporus Aincientus has a 30% chance to be knocked back a short distance and stunned for a time. Triggered Spell

Timeleap
The mage could not stop the great beast! Its mastry of time was too great. Spinning around to flee for his life, the mage stopped dead when, to his shock, the Temporus Aincientus materialized in front of him, and ripped the surprised mage to shreds.

Timeleap is similar to blink, the Temporus Aincientus dives into the timestream, altering time so that it is where it would be in a few seconds time. This allows the Temporus Aincientus to cover distances at great speed and traverse normally impassable terrain. When the spell is cast all enemies near the materialization point of the Temporus Aincientus take a small amount of damage from the sudden outrush of energy. Triggered Spell

Temporal Trap
The world closed around him, he could feel no way out. There was not black, for black is merly the absense of light, this was some kind of anti-light, it sucked at his mind and soul, driving him insane. While he had only been immersed in the trap for a matter of seconds, upon being released from its timeless hold the man was insane, and killed his shocked comrades on the spot.

Temporal Trap is an interesting one, it places a small bubble of energy over the target area, if a unit actually comes in physical contact with the bubble, it is instantly placed within a localized area of timlessness and driven insane, after a certain amount of time later, an Vengeful Spirit is released. The Spirit attacks a random nearby unit, friend or foe. If the chosen unit dies then the Spirit returns to the netherworld, it can also be banished by killing it. Doesnt Affect Heros
Triggered Spell

Foresight
Damnit! That blasted Ancient had somehow dodged his blow again, it was almost as if the damned thing could see his attacks before he made them, and move out of the way with terrifying speed.

Foresight is a sort of spoof on evasion, it gives the Temporus Aincientus a % chance to dodge an attack, if an attack is dodged the the Temporus Aincientus is teleported a short distance away from the attacker. Triggered Spell

Ultimate
Time Freeze
The Ancient was at it again! Conjuring some kind of magic, well it wouldnt work this time. Nocking an arrow to his bow, the archer let fly, just as the Ancient finished its incantations for Time Freeze, a bubble of energy burst outwards, the arrow stopped in mid-flight and the archer had just enough time to wonder what on earth was going on when the energy reached him. What he felt was moments later the Ancient and its Night Elves vanished into thin air, as if they were never there...

Time Freeze is a localized time-stop spell that is used for getting away. When cast it freezes all enemy units within a 1500 radius around the Ancient, but due to their frozen state they cannot be injured (Invulnerble) Any enemy unit that enters the freeze will also be frozen until its duration has run out. This is basically a spell to hold a large part of the enemy army while you run behind em to blow up their base. Not sure if it should affect heros or not. Triggered Spell

I think the totem is too defined, and the leaves need more definition. Otherwise a nice idea

This seems close to finished, i'll move it to the gallery

added an in-game shot of his glowy ball. Problem i have with the leaves is that theres some TERRIBLE wrapping in some areas, so i hid those areas with leaves, i purposely made them indistinct.

Thanks for ure comments everyone.

LOL awesome. The skin needs more definition, the leaves arent that visable. awesome idea ho. also make the eyes more defined. U need to also make ur Screen shots much smalller. I hate viwing ur skins cause the images are always flying off my screen. I can imagine how those 56k kids feel.

Curse Phoenix! That Time Freeze spell is very similer to one in FD! lol

Seriously, nice spells. Do you mind if I use that additional effect of a unit being frozen if he enters the area of effect for my spell?

sure, its actually a really simple spell - Upon being cast it creates a dummy caster that casts a variation on big-bad-voodoo that makes all units within 1500 radius invinceble. It also activates a periodic trigger that spawns a 2nd dummy caster that lasts 1 second and casts a modified war stomp that only stuns and has a 1500 radius (stun lasts 2 seconds) it waits X time then stops the periodic trigger (the dummy voodoo caster dies at this point cause its expiration timer has run out)

it works really well, it does mean only 1 can be cast at once per variable, i did come up with a way around that, but it means units that enter the area arnt frozen as well.
