Alien Vs Predator

Alright wc3c didnt want to host the map because they said that they had too many maps already.

Well, since the movie is coming out I think it would be great to have an Alien vs Predator map. I mean it would be awesome for a battle net map. I dont have any exact ideas yet.

I will skin everything I don't think we'll need a lot anyway. I was thinking a single hero type of map. Kind of like AoS but not jsut a (destroy the enemy base stuff) Does anyone have ideas or would like to join?

Needed People:
A good trigger
A good Spell Maker
A good terrainer
Possibly a good Modeler

I watched some trailers at avp-movie.com and in the movie theres a pyramid in antartica and the predators, aliens and marines are there. I dont the games should we follow a different story line?

I dont want to do a campaign because they fall easily. A battle.net map is more practical.

True enough, a B.net map would be more logical, but you'd probably stick to the facts models don't work well on B.net. I take it you need models for the Aliens and Predator. Anyway, if I remember right, Renegade-Void had some ideas for an Alien vs Predator project. You might want to talk to him, be for warned, he has a very short temper so he'll easily gets angry, look at the thread if you don't believe me.

Anyway, I'm not too fond on the idea, I still wish you luck with it though. I have a feeling more of such maps will appear all of a sudden on B.net ;)

Watching the movie would surely help, but I guess he's already anouncing it.

As for the other map, maybe so, but if there already is one, it is probably not the best quality ever.

I already know what movie is about, theres already pred/alien skins, i can do spells.

JOD: Yea I played one but it sucked so bad I got pissed and I want to make a good unique fun one. Besides I know the basic story line for the movie

Storyline: (no spoliers)
The story line is basically. They find a pyramid in antartica. The humans go check it out. (They say pyramids were made by aliens. It is a ritural by predators to send teenage predators to the pyramids to like turn them into men they need to kill aliens. So 5 predators go to earth) The aliens are fighting predators and predators are fighting aliens. The humans are caught in the middle. For terrain it could be underground but icy.

I'm thinking this for missions
Predators Mission: Kill a certain number of Aliens and find the Queen
Aliens Mission: Defend the Queen & kill humans and predators
Humans Mission: Find research(explore everyroom underground if u check. they will have traps etc you need to explore EVERY room. You must kill the queen

So tiki is on spells. Anyone else the only thing i really need is a trigger since I can do terrain.

True the movie may suck but theres still a lot books, comics and other games which are good to base it off. I doubt it will flop worse then catwomen or gigli. We'll see the ratings this week probaly i haven't seen trailers on tv though strange.

I see previews all the time, hey and pm me some spell ideas and ill get started.

I sent you these tiki but here they are. Does anyone have any ideas. I need ideas to make the heros different. Heres a few quick ones give me any input for new ideas etc.

Predator: Everyone on the team gets one hero predator he can be revived.
Laser Cannon: A very fast projectile.
Cloaking: I think an edited windwalk will do
Net: Have the predator use "ensnare" on target unit it cant move or attack
Disc: The predator throws a disc and it bounces of an enemy to the next.
Spear: The predator throw and spear at it impales a target going to the next.
Medical Aid: It can slowly heal other unit or remove face huggers. (cant target self)
Self Destruct: er he blows up. Have text pop up as well like in the movies.
Example red text " / - \ [ )^." have it kinda count down


Aliens: The alien team would get their own alien hero and the queen will lay eggs for each person on the team. These eggs hatch and turn the face huggers. You control the facehuggers.
Instinct: The alien gets faster attack speed and more damage but loses health for a certain time.
Acid Blood: When an enemy attack the alien they take damge (melee only)
Facehuggers Attach: The face hugger goes on target unit it will start losing health. If it isn't removed the unit the will die and an alien egg will be in it's spot. You click the egg and you can chose which alien you want it to hatch to. (depending on your level) say lvl 1 alien takes 5 seconds lvl 2 takes 15 etc etc.
???: I wanted a skill for aliens. In the movies they climb walls or go in the floor to escape is there anyway we can get askill like that?
Bite: The Alien bites target unit and it will take damage and flee.

Humans: You control one hero but you have access to tanks and other vehicles.
Grenade: The hero throws the grenade target aoe explodes and takes damage.
Medical Aid: It can slowly heal other unit or remove face huggers. (cant target self)
Flamethrower: Sends a giant flame in a cone shape. Enemy units take damage and will be on fire. They will take damage over a limited amount of time.

Alk_High_Elf do you have any examples of your work. Most likey we will be doing an underground theme using icecrown.

Yo Mock have you played the Predator map based on the first predator movie? if you havnt play it, not many do but its real good, and also could I skin the Predator just for fun for you?

BTW: about the spells, the net thing should do damage coz its a real sharp net that cuts through their skin in Predator 2 remember?
