Hey all, I've been working on a map for quite some time, and we're getting ready to put it out for final release. I'm hoping to find a few people that are willing to take some time and help out with the testing. Here is all I ask: 1) Basic competence with the game of warcraft. Ideally you've played the game through and won, or you have some experience with hero arena, enfos, or some kind of game where you only control one hero. This is a difficult game on normal, we want hard to be very hard. 2) Availability during the week at some time between 3-11 PST from August 2-August 5. 3) That's it. There's only 2. The game is a cooperative game where you fight waves of enemies in rounds. One wave comes out, you kill them all. You get full hp/mp & all heroes that died at the beginning of every new round. There's not a lot of heroes, but every hero is very unique and I think the balancing is also very good, though I'm open to suggestions. For more details on the game go to my post here. You can also download a version there and try it out, see if you like it or not. If you'd be interested, send me a PM or reply to this thread. As I mentioned, I want to start on Mon. Aug 2. If you're not sure if you can help, reply to this thread or send me a PM. I need all the help I can get! -Aaero Note: If this post is in the wrong category or needs to be moved, sorry. I figured this is where it would go, but I've been wrong before :\ . |

I just finished up my reply to this post in the original thread. Basically though, I'd like to take a second to make it clear that one main reason I'm so happy with the game and ready to put out 1.0 is that not only am I happy with it, when I host it online I always get an awesome response. People love the game, and 25-50% of the time I get asked to ReMake. It's admittedly not perfect, and simple in a number of ways, but I think that it's fun overall, and I'm hoping that most people will feel the same :). -Aaero |

I saw that post and i replied to it if I'm not mistaking ;) Anyway, it is good to hear you get good feedback on Bnet, but I remain to the fact I cannot stand the terrain, though i always have been picky when it comes to terrain, this is something outside the boarders. Well, good job anyway, maybe add more waves later. It was pretty short... (undead wave was rather hard for so early though) |

Yeah you and I are having a regular old conversation! You are probably right about the terrain, no one working on the project has any concept of what would look professional. We just made what we thought a Gladiator Arena would look like. Maybe if the game is successful I'll track down someone with a bit more visual instinct than myself. We may also release a "long" version of the game, we'd probably have to increase the max level and add some more levels onto all the skills. As it is, a full game won't take less than twenty minutes and will probably take more than thirty on normal, and that's right about at target length. The long version would probably at least double that. |

Maybe I'm just a bit annoyed by the terrain because I'm a (retired sort-of) terrainer myself. Anyway, that is why it bothers me so much. I don't like bad Terrain. Anyway, when that "long" version is released, I surely will play it, I'll be looking forward to that surely ;) |

Heh, then no wonder you were annoyed. I don't want to say that terrain isn't valuable, it was just never a large focus in the game. My partner and I are both computer programmers, and we sort of have the mindset that goes with that (game mechanics, abilities, design; all come before appearance). Good to hear that you'd give it another try come long version! Now it's 1:30 AM my time, and I have to head to bed! |

Ah, that explains why the terrain doesn't look so great ;) Anyway, because of the reason I can live with it :) Anyway, that's pretty late, I'd suggest you'd get a good night rest, good night sleep tight don't fall out of bed -Fladian |

I've picked up a few beta testers from playing Normal and putting some final balancing touches together online. Hard is going to be fairly difficult to test, but I'm going to go ahead with testing because it's not like this game is going to be found in your local Gamestop or anything. I don't think any serious bugs remain, so the only thing left before you see this map in "Completed Maps" is this final bit of testing for hard. Admittedly, I did listen a little to some of Fladian's advice...we added in a gold animation at the end of every round so you can somewhat see that you are getting gold from the crowd (though I insist the game is not funner because of this). We also buffed up a couple ultimates on heroes that we felt needed it. It's too bad that more people didn't give this game a try on these boards. I'm not sure if it's because it's not the right type of game, or if it's because it isn't presented professionally, or if there's just not enough interest in WC3 anymore. Regardless, I think my partner and I have put together a quality game that is also a lot of fun to play. I sincerely hope that it sees a lot of playtime because I think that most people that play it really enjoy it. -Aaero |
