Spell System Idea

An idea for a spell system came to me, and since I currently have no need for it I thought it would be nice to share it with the community.

In a lot of maps you start off by choosing which hero you want to play with. These heroes range from palladins, rangers, pyromancers and the like. These heroes have set hero abilities.
In other maps you could, in some form or the other, "buy" your abilities. This system works to some effect like that,

When you start the map you choose a hero that is one of the 3 attributes: Strength (Str), Agility (Agi) and Intelligence (Int).
-Str heroes are melee
-Agi heroes are ranged
-Int heroes are ranged

These heroes come with no spells.

Spell Sets

In order to obtain spells you have to aquire Spell Sets. Spell sets each contain 2 spells. Since the hero only has room for 7 spells your hero may only have a max of 3 different spell sets. When you start the map you can choose a spell set.

To aquire other spell sets go to the appropriate building (shrine, dojo, shop) and if you have enough experience and gold you could "purchase" the spell set and get the corresponding 2 spells.

Spell sets have levels and can be upgraded. Upgraded spell sets have stronger versions of their spells. Upgraded spell sets replace their previous level's spells and are aquired by the same means as new spell sets. They obviously require more experience and cost more gold.

The hero is not limited to the same 3 spell sets for the entire game. If we wants to purchase a spell set but alredy has 3 spell sets a dilogue box pops up showing which spell sets you already have (and their level), allowing you to choose which spell set you want to replace.

Spell sets have an indicator that shows which attibute is best suited for that set, however any attribute can purchase most spell sets regadless of the suggested Attribute. There are some spell sets that are restricted to a certain attribute, and are usually available at the higher hero levels. Also some spell set levels are also restricted to a certain attribute. Example: Fire Magic levels 1 to 5 are available to all attribues but levels 6 and 7 can only be puchased by the Int hero.

EXAMPLE HERO::
-I choose the Agility hero and the Ninja Spell Set (Agi). The ninja spell set has the spells Blink and Shuriuken Toss.

-After some battles and quests I earn enough exp and gold to buy another spell set. I go to the Shrine and purchase another set. Since the Ninja spell set doesnt use lots of mana I decide to purchase Tide Magic Set (Int). The Tide Magic set has Crushing Wave and Summon Coral Elemental.

-After some more battles and quests I purchase Boxer Spell Set (Str): Druken Brawler and Swift Jab.

-I realise the Boxer set is not my type and replace it with Trapmaster Set (Agi): Stasis ward and Goblin Mine.

-I like my hero with the spells he has and keep upgrading these spells.

-At level 11 I upgrade my Ninja Set to level 6, which is restricted to Agi heroes; I cannot upgrade Tide Magic past level 5 as I am not an Int hero.

- At level 18 I replace Trapmaster Set with Wind Runner Set (Agi only): windwalk and bladestorm.

Another option would be to choose an Int hero and specialise in a certain element: Tide Spell Set, Snow Spell Set, Rain Spell Set to make an Aquamancer.
