Again, for the Revival of the High Elves. I need some music (obviously) and I need someone to do it. I am talking now about quality music which will obviously become MP3. So if anyone thinks he can help, post here. I was at a music school for eight years so I guess I can send you the notes if you can understand them :D. Else I can let your imgination work. |

If you can print the music HOHNER MIDIA have programs out that will read it with a scanner and you can then set up the instuments. But not free ones. I don't know if there is a free reader out there but there are alot of free programs out there where you can input the notes yourself and as long as you have a good sound card they should sound ok. And if not theres a sound font tutorial somewhere on this site. It sounds like your a pro musician so give then a try. I'm just a hack muso and I have alot of fun with the free programs and most are very easy to use. |

Overdue... DO you think you could give me the link to one of those free programs. It would be great if it would be a good one but not very big (I'm looking for something up to 12 MBs). DO you think you could give me a linky? |

this is the midi program you'll need another to convert it to a good sound like wav or mp3 but you can either use a staff a keyboard or a fretboard to set up the notes... if u got a soundblaster go to SBHQ and max out the soundfonts ( tho i dont think thats really needed) http://www.anvilstudio.com/ It's the best of all the free stuff I have come to find. a good file converter is http://www.jetaudio.com/ its free last time I got it but i only use it to convert files from midi to wav its a media player and I use an old version. But it does the job. ( don't associate files tho ) audacity will add effects and lots of them its at sourceforge... do a search here and you'll find the direct link to it ( i think in the sound or mp3 tutorials ) sourceforge and cnet are great places to find these sort of progs. |

great but very costly software can be found here but I'm to cheap to use or try it www.hohnermidia.com soundblaster run the standard for midi and any prog will work perfectly with thier sound cards ( because SB are the standard for sound on PC's) . If you have a different sound card you may need to go to thier website to update drivers or read about compatibility issues. Roland are the choice midi imputs but suprisingly casio have great compatability and a cheap price range. Sammick are high compatibility tho only the newer versions of thier products. You can get away with using a mike input for an instument ( instead of midi-in )apparently that works for lots of instruments but I have never tryed it and am just going from what I have read. |

True... though I should point out that making a midi an wav or mp3 like that is not gonna make it sound real good. You can check out the theories behind MIDI in my sticky thread about composition. |

Ok cause I'm new to the site I dont know what a sticky thread is can u post the link. Cause I been drinking and I find I shouldnt do searches when I do that. I think I may have seen a post of yours that put me on to audacity. BTW they had Apple II's when I was a school so its all been learn as you go so any info here will help. Midi is a nice simple cheap way to go and unless you are gonna record the sound. But midi will at least give you a set up of the notes to print. |

Ironic. You can make musical notes, but you can't make music on computer very well, while I can compose on computer but I don't know musical notes very well... |

Over... did you get my PM? Hope you have... Anyway, I need someone to turn two MIDIs in MP3s. The only problem for me is that my soundcard sucks so they would suck as well. Can anyone help me with this problem? |
