Heya. I just started trying to skin a couple days ago, and I've been able to glean most of the information I needed off this site. However I am still having a problem and was wondering if anyone could help. I have wc3 viewer and Photoshop 8.0 and I was successful in making a skin for Jaina and it worked out fine. I tried making a skin for 2 other units through and I ran into a problem. The night elf archer and silvans WinRunner did the same thing. After I import the skin and try to look at the unit, everything on the unit is gone except for the cape. It's just like a floating cape. I think this may have something to do with alpha channels, I really don't know as I don't know much about them. I read Drake's alpha channel tutorial and it didn't really help me much as I have Photoshop. The guy who posted on the thread that talked about Photoshop didn't go too in-depth and I couldn't gather anything I'm supposed to do. If I save the unit in Photoshop without alpha channels, the unit will display in the game and in WE, but the team color is gone, which I believe is what alpha is for. Any help would be highly appreciated on how I can get the units to display in game with team color on. Thanks. -Aly |

ok first i gotta say that i am just as new as you and im stuck too on a diff problem but what it seems like you ran into is the different meshes arent showing up. go over to the tree and make sure that all of the meshes are checked because the model is broken up into different parts and ive noticed that often the cape is one alone but if you figure out another way to make it transparent let me know cause i havent ![]() |
