hi anyway im not new to map making or anything as ive been making new maps since before i even got the net and was finally able to use bnet (ohh that glorious day) but one thing i am new to is importing models now i followed the guide in the download section i even downloaded the goblin praetorian specifically so i could do it right and i could do that no problem but the problem im facing now is I CANT FIND THE BLOODY* PATHS also i dont know quite how to find out other than posting so i joined up anyway can ANYONE tell me who, where or what i have to do to learn these paths p.s. i personally reckon the paths should havta be posted or something similar when someone uploads a map, make it compulsory or something p.p.s if your wondering the skins/Model/whatever the hell it is that im having problems with, well its the protoss stormtrooper by killst4r soz if i spelled it wrong and the protoss Zealot who i *think* was also made by killst4r correct me if im wrong both great models but neither had a path i could see *BLOODY aint a swearword or bit of obscene language so dont take no off if your someone who normally takes off at something like that |

yeah i had the same problem, someone helped me so.... ...if you unzip the file then import the models, renaming the file path to units\other\<then the file name it was unziped as>\<then the file name with the.mdx>. this seems to work for me (only models) like i had the darkwraith model and unzip it as units\other\darkwraith\darkwriath.mdx and it worked for me. This may not work because what i have found is that there is no tutorial that specifcal goes through it all, there seems to be many different ways of doing it and it is very confusing. but after this you may run into the same problem as me, i have my model on the map maker and i can see him perfectly but when i test the game i cant see the model. p.s you need to close and open the editor once u have upload the file and rename the file to allow the map editor to re-load up the new filename. |

The path of the MDX does not matter. The BLP paths are listed in the downloads section. For the case of the storm trooper, there evidently are no directories into which you need to put the textures. Just remove the wc3mapimported\ and it should work (after restarting WE, setting MDX path in Object Editor). |

Yeah ummm how to put this... how do you set paths in object editor? is it just add the parh to a unit then is it done or is there more, also when i did add it to a unit (well im pretty sure i did) it comes up with something saying can not find war3mapImported\Protoss Zealot.mdl, anyway im trying again with the lack of directories so my Import Manager's full paths are now reading like this BlueGlow1.blp war3mapImported\Protoss Zealot.MDX ReaverSmoke2.blp TerranSmoke3.blp Zealot1.blp im going to try again and see if it works this time thx for your time |
