I can do the X-Wing, but from the looks of it I'll be doing quite a few polys. Lemme make sure this is the right X-Wing. I'll start modelling here soon, should take about a week, maybe less.

I'll have to get a friend to skin it, he's good at star-wars skins.

Let me get this right, you aren't workin on a starwars map and this topic was a joke? or you are making an aos map with star wars units? I finished the X-Wing.

Zoom (requires log in)

Its currently 2500 polys.. BUT. The model has no real need for animations, so using it ingame would be about the equivalant of a well animated 800 poly model, so no worries. I'm thinking about trying to skin it, or I'll let my friend do it, if I can get ahold of him.

It isnt a joke,I use it in dota style map but it will have starcraft and normal units(it has already,I released dota 25 0.7)Btw,did u make it in milkshape and did u use box, sphere or did u make it from scratch with vertex. If I dont like animations or something, can(may) I edit x wing model?Still need other units or x wing is for nothing :(

Well, right after I posted the model, someone gave me a negative rep saying it was a rip. I'm kinda sick of people ruining all of my work so I'm really eager NOT to release any more models.

It was made with vertex, using concept art from a star wars website. Took me about 5 hours to complete. Not skinned yet.

It was Jester, and he really needs to stop trying to ruin everything I do on these forums. As of now, I dunno if I'll be doing anymore models (except for my map) unless he is gone.

2500 polys? Are you kidding? Thats way too much for such a model.

Jester, you should read this topic:

http://www.wc3campaigns.com/showthread.php?t=61213

If the game can handle 100 models with 1200 polies on the screen at ones, why wouldn't it be able to handle one model with 2500 polies.

There's a big difference between 2500 and 120,000.

I've tested this theory with an 18000 poly gundam model of mine, and yes it worked fine, no lag, no nothing, played fine. 2500 polies is NOT too many.
