ok heres the deal-
I recently was thinking about a book I read called Ender's Game. They made him go to battle school when he was 6 because "buggers" had 2 wars with earth, and another was expected to come. All brilliant children were sent to battle school to learn how to become...well a marine. The ones who did good there went to command school, where they practiced giving orders instead of fighting in an actual unit (officer instead of war fodder). Hopefully a lot of you have already read it, if not go get it its great ( I left out the good parts...dont worry :D )

anyway, enough of that, heres how the game works. You will start with x amount of starships (different types), which each have x amount of weapons and x amount of fighters (dont worry about the actual amounts right now).

You issue commands by using different strings, which can be explained with a -help string or somethin like that. Basically you can order each of your starships to do certain things, such as move to x point and attack x ship or attack randomly. I want to give the Commander as much control as possible, without actually giving him control. I'm also thinking about having different starship officers having different personalities, making them more wreckless, agressive, loyal, etc.

What I need-

Starship and Fighter Units
1 moddeler (needs to be good with "futuristic" units, will be creating starship and fighter models)
1 skinner (needs to be good with metal, will be creating starship and fighter skins)
Terrain
1 terrainer (needs to somehow use the war3 editor to make it look as futuristic as possible, apparently the fights will have to be on a planet unless we can figure out a way to make it look like space...heh :( )
Triggers, Cinematics
1 co-triggerer (I am really good at triggering, so thats what I'll be doin mainly, but someone to help would be good)
I will be doing the storyline
I will be doing cinematics unless someone extremely talented volunteers to do it

I had a thread like this a while ago, NO frigin responses because no ones read these books. I will be happy to do some terrain for you and I think i know how to make the terrain fit in as the battle arena.....

If you want my help just tell me here or on a PM

I might be a bit busy with my Korgath Bladefist campaign (as soon as I get a Team) but I'd still like to help on this as much as I can doing triggers and terrain

OK I got an update on the team and more info for the map, here we go-

Heres more info-
There will be 4 races (I wanted more than 1v1, that wouldnt be to good, so now its 1v1v1v1)
they are-
Humans
Gnomes
Buggers
Ingariaths(I made this up on the spot-can be changed later)

Each race will have a specialty and a weakness in their fleet, which I will only tell the team for now...

Each fleet will consist of 1 starship, 6battlecruisers, and x amount of marines and starfighters (x being the races specialty or weakness in these 2 fields)

I have decided to have land more....happily then before, because I got a new idea

The starship can must drop a command center on the island next to where they start (the easy way if they follow the directions, the hard way if they dont (triggers ))

The command center can make 1 officer for each marine squad, meaning the marines can control themselves on the ground while you do the important stuff in the air, as long as they have an officer, if they dont then they will retreat until you start to command them. It also acts as a artificial defense point (all marines near it get a big armor bonus when near the command center (simulating trenches and such)). They also respawn a few marines and starfighters for the battlecruisers every few minutes.

You will not be able to view freely, you will only be able to see from each of your starships points of view, your command centers point of view, and your commanding officer of the marines point of view. The shrowd of darkness will cover the map again every minute or two.

About 300 years have passed since the 3rd Bugger War. The humans, without a brilliant mind to lead their army (once again), have become very arrogant. The buggers are expanding, and have a very viscious(sp?) head hivequeen. Gnomes, curious as they are, have decided to try their machines of war in battle. Ingariaths, just recently found, want to dominate the world. War has broken out, and this one is bad. The humans think they've found their military genius. This is his final test, the final game, if he fails, mankind is sure to perish. This is command school.
(you may think this is single player but it is not. Its 1v1v1v1 meant to be played on b.net)

Commands
I may go crazy thinking of all the possible commands the players can have. Unfortunately they have to be able to remember them all (heh..heh.. emote_sweat ). Im trying to think of a basic structure of strings to command (ie Units to order/Direction order given/Order given, although this may not be good enough). Anyway this part of the game I will have to think through very thoroughly, and I ask you, the people reading this, to respond giving ideas of how it should work. Any who help will be given credit.

Minor changes might be neccesary here such as YEAR because Ender travelled the planets for close to.....2000 years.....there were 3 other books and in thsoe where two more races; Piggies (forget the real name ugh), and the Descoladores (named after the virus they created)

There are tons and tons of possibilities with these races, if you want to know more about them read Children of the Mind and Xenocide.

Not too much known about descoladoers so we have a LOT of possibilities for them.

Piggies (friggin name) are a melee combat people who JUST got space ships with the help of the Buggers (they had a real name too) (leader is female and they use trees)

If you want anything else about these races (if you want to use them) then just ask.
