Hey. Me, Niro, an Aiursrage2k were talking and we got this idea, what if someone made a side scrolling game for warcraft? The works and all, jumping on enemies, getting killed, restarting levels, etc. THE WINNER WILL GET HIS 2D ENGINE USED TO MAKE A SMALL CAMPAIGN. The campaign will be discussed between the campaign creators and the winner.

Rules:
- It can only be side to side or up and down (jumping like), you can't have a character go down a road heading north or south.
- It must have a jump function that works on some enemies and not on others.
- There must be a certain ammount of times before a unit is killed (have lifes too).
- You need 1 or 2 secondary attacks besides jumping, mabe a punch or some type of ranged attack.
- You need at least 4 types of enemies and 1 boss.
- Minimum of 1 small level that takes around 5 minutes.
- Game runs smoothely, minimal or no bugs.
- Have safe points if you die.
- You can use Jass and the world editor.

I may add extra rules if needed.

Examples of sidescrollers are:
Donkey Kong 1,2,3
Most pre 64 mario games
Super Metroid
Sonic (Pre-3d)

I tried to create something like this (not exactly with all of the stuff that was mentioned like the jumping and punches) for a Sonic map I'm in the process of making but it failed for two reasons.
1. I couldn't figure out how to set the camera so the ground was horizontal.
2. I tried to set the camera so that it would follow the player when their character moved, but the general feed back regarding this system was negative with the major complaint being that the camera was a nightmare to deal with, especially when trying to target an enemy with a AOE spell.
Regardless, I hope this contest yields some great results. Good Luck. If you're interested, I'll PM you with the details of my map. :D

You have to make a custom camera in the camera pallet and set the angle of attack to like 350.

Just have the camera lock to the unit.

I really wanna see someone make this, maybe I'll give it a shot too o.o

I already tried my hand at making pacman, but that didnt exactly work out too well... It ran well enough but it seemed it to be too hardcore for pacmen and too ez for the blobs... either that or I might've just not hosted it enough...
