First off I need some really good battle music imported to my WC3 Map. I found that all of the music files that i've tried to use are 3000 Kb or more I need a nice solid battle music to go along with the last boss fight in my map My map is a final fantasy map so it needs to be kinda of mythical It needs to be low filesize Question: Is there any way to convert an Mp3 3000Kb to a lower quality file but with around 200-300 Kb |

Try and find a midi converter, you can make whole .mp3 files as small as 100kb, but they will have a greatly decreased quality, and won't sound much the same. I'll see if there are any .mid files around here you might be able to use. |

Ahh damn I should thought of One Winged Angel as it is a really nice final fantasy song... Though the full version is 8MB. Though with Hexerns help I can make that down to 300 Kb. But it may not make it the same greatness it already has =( Looks like I owe u guys both rep points... actually I owe Hexen like 4.... Can't give them to you till tommorow Forum wont allow it. |

I converted one of the MP3s I used in my map to MIDI. You shoulda heard the crap that plopped out. It was horrible. BAN MIDI for great justice. -Kiradacon |

Really it pains me sometimes to see how people yell about midi or how they think it is so good, and how they think those converters work, they don't. In the music tutorial sticky everything is explained as to what MIDI is. You can reduce an mp3 in size by lowering the bitrate in an editing program btw. |

hmmm how would i do that, know of any programs that would allow me to do this? The full One Winged Angel Mp3 is over 8 Mb... How much could it actually reduce it... |

Depends what bitrate you lower it to, the lower the less good it sounds. Hmmm well cooledit, soundforge, goldwave, audition, but those are payed progs. Might find a trial though. A converter might also give you the option to change the bitrate. |

Hmm I can borrow them from my neighbor he has a friend he pirates that kind of stuff off the internet. I'm probably going to have to reduce it alot... The only reason I want FF7 music is because Sephiroth is going ot be the main enemy in my map... And One Winged Angel is the last boss them song (his). None of the warcraft Music Files fit FF7. And I want the fight between the last boss and players to be rememarable because its going to be very fucking hard and very hard to get to... You may have to do 9 quests each game to get to him... Some of them are a bit harder... So I figured if I'm going ot put players through that crap then the final battle better be memorable... So I figured custom music would be a good idea. Im going to ask my neighbor about the Prog. Anyone know how to use any of those progs who can help me step by step? |

absolutly no idea. I use cool edit pro, even though its a really cheap program, works fine for me. |

ehh some reason I didn't want to go with CoolEdit only because tis really cheap... But I did actually learn how to use this thing by messing with it. And it's pretty simple. But I'm afraid that One Winged Angel is much to big of a song to compact and play on Wc3. It went from 8Mb to 4.7 Mb. That's still very very large and I wouldn't even be able to play the map on B net because of the B Net Map Size Limit |

Are you looking for FF7 songs? If so which ones. |

I converted One Winged Angel to a kb .mid file, which sounds like the original One Winged Angel, but with a lower sound quality. I could send it to you, but I cannot upload .mid files here. |

damn that sounds pretty good, though it sounds as if 2 intstruments are playing rather the 5-6 that are normally that isnt a problem though |
