UMSWE vs WEE+

W3campaigns took World Editor Enhanced Plus (or what ever it was) off the download page stating along the lines of "UMSWE" (i'm not even gonna try remembering what that means) does everything WEE+ does & more/better, however i could not edit unit shadows in UMSWE & i can in WEE+, which is kind of important to the map i'm working on. whats going on?

Did you ever play a map where you edited shadows on b.net? then play a non-edited game after? it will casue you to drop instantly. All the unit fields that were added in WEEB did not work correctly, I am not sure that the shadow fields will work the same way or not, so i didnt include it to avoid hearing people say that my stupid editor makes them drop. If I can get the info i need from BD or 3Dguy, this will all be made easier, but until then, you have to suffer knowing that you map will work, even if the shadows dont look quite right.

I had another problem with UMS. You haven't put in 'all creeps in every tileset' I changed every file with 'unit' in it's name to the WEE version. I have attached what i changed/what happened, but which file did i change which had an effect ( a POSITIVE effect) and what didn't i need to change (so i can change it back)

Yes I know I didn't do that, I had more complaints about the load times, and I held a poll in a few places, and the majority wanted them seperate, but I have made a few custom versions for people who wanted this added in. I'm thinking of an install program or something that will allow the user to customize the editor, ie, extra unit fields for SP campaigns, all creeps in one spot for lazy people :bgrun:

That'd be good. is there anyway to stop the doodads extreme random size variations? (not turn variations off altogether). If not this would be another useful option to include

yes it can be done. We can stop them of having those variations.

btw, i'm merging my editor with scio. we both guess a combined effort is better to everybody.

OK, ill limit the variations for next version, BTW for those new to my editor expect an update on sat night, of almost every week, unless I find something crucial that needs to be fixed

Oh, BD, do you mean stop random sizes all together or just limit the range for random variation when placing, PM me the answer and anything else you want to add in for next version.

Can anyone explain what I have done (look at edits.txt) above? Which file(s) did I need to change, and which file(s) can i change back (and get more of the new stuff from UMSWE while still being able to have all creeps in every tileset)

i guess stop random sizes is better. anyway, i'm little busy those days so i'm not going to be very usefull to you till next week.

random sizes MUST be turned off when you have high values you can choose between! -_- If you dont do that your doodad placement will linger between 0,1 and 5, sometimes with extreme values will even not allow you to view them correctly. can be rectified with a setting in WE. If they just use default scaling without random option on, then its okay. You cant really fix that through slk, just NOTE that people should turn it off random size variation. If they still dont understand they are too lazy and dont deserve it -_-

Tip=also consider removing rotation obsolete for some doodads, making them rotateble

Tip=Change unit class to string

Slight problem, after installing UMSWE 3.1 I think it may have screwed up my war3 install, as any multiplayer random team game that I join I allways crash out in aroun 5 min, something that never happened before. Not sure if this is really the UMSWE's fault, but its the only thing that was changed in my war3 dir lately. The thing that makes think it's not it is that I deleted all the folders and the game still crashes... Looks like its time for a reinstall here.

IGNORE this. it looks like br is unfinished.

Minor thing, but could u include the ability "berserker rage" [Absk] in the abilities list. The orc warchief has this ability but it cannot be selected for other units.

1) the rotating and scaling of ALL doodads will be included in next version

2)ok, ill put unit class to string since there is more of a demand for it now

3) yea sorry i forgot to include the AbilityData.slk file, but I dont see where the spell entry for absk is, its in the text files, but i dont see what it does in the slk's
