Sonic Saga (gathering a team)

-I'm currently in the process of creating an action RPG hybrid map (for battle net) for 4-6 players based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. Here's the posistions that are availible if anyone's interested.
1. Modeler: (Units to be made do not need a hero glow or have a big file size since this is a map intended for battle net. The ability to unwrap and animate is highly valued.)
2. Skinner: (Can be same person as modeler).
3. Anyone with a paint program that can alpha channel: I have all the icons that I have made ready to go, but they need alpha channeling since I have a very old version of Paint Shop. I however, do have the file converters so I can convert the icons to blp format.
4. Terrainer: Unless it becomes nessecary to create stuff, the primary job of the terrainer is to give advice on how to create the visuals of the various areas of the map (such as the interior of an airship). I'm using Lorderon Summer to reflect the series' bright and colorful visuals.
-Here is a sample of some of the map's features.
1. A Crono Cross style experience system designed for balanced experience distribution.
2. 6 primary characters (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and Rouge) and 6 secret characters that must be unlocked (Cream, Charmy, Vector, Espio, E-102 Gamma, and Chaos) each with their own strengths and weaknesses thus requireing good teamwork to win. Each character gets three lives but if Sonic dies, everyone loses.
3. A journey through the series starting from Sonic 1 and ending with Sonic Adventure 2.
4. Seven Chaos Emeralds to find, each with their own unique powers (the white one grants you the powers of an Orb of Lightning). There is a reward if the players collect all seven.
5. Mini games scattered thorughout the map, such as the two Sky Chase zone mini games, the character battles from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, a Casinopolis mini game that acts like the currency exchanging system from the Age of Empires series, and a chao raising mini game where you purchase Chao, buy fruit for them so they can evolve, and eventually, summon your chao to help you fight enemies.
-This map (an update) asides from the stuff that i'm gathering a team for is about 97% finished. Anyone interested?

If you're interested, I have an idea that could "knock down four birds with one stone." This depends on what can be done with setting team colors.
1. Construct a basic model of Sonic (minus animations and skin), and make a second copy of this file.
2. After creating the different animations and skins for Sonic and Shadow (the copied model file), set the Sonic model so that the blue parts of the skin that are affected by a player's team color (same with the black parts on the Shadow skin). Hopefully, if this idea works properly, one model (and its copy) will be able to take care of Sonic, Super Sonic, Shadow, and Super Shadow since I plan on setting the player color of Super Sonic to yellow while setting the player color of Super Shadow to gray.

Sounds great! A Sonic-based Warcraft map, if done well, could be explosive. However, I saw one thing that bugged me in your summary...if it's a journey from Sonic 1 to the end of SA2, then why exactly would you have Shadow and Rogue included? They weren't present until Sonic Adventure2, as far as my understanding goes...
If I were you, I would go down one of two roads.
1. Nix Shadow and Rogue and stay the course with the other four characters, and include some people from the Chaotix or something instead of having them as secret characters.
2. You could change the concept of the map, and instead of making it be a saga type map, you could play it off like in the Sonic Adventure Battle games. You could have teams of three, with obviously Sonic, Kunckles and Tails against Eggman, Shadow and Rogue (I noticed earlier that you didn't include eggman in the first part. If it was a matter of you thinking people wouldn't want to play him...then I beg to differ, I would love to play Eggman).
Anyway, that's just my take on it...good luck.

-If you're asking why Shadow and Rouge are in the game despite only appearing in SA2, here's my logic. Part of this map's inspiration comes from 2 classic Starcraft maps, the Chrono Trigger RPG and the DBZ Saga rpg map (where you could play as young Trunks and Goten despite they only being in the last segment). One of the mini games involves player versus player battles where players can fight against each other in duels (like Sonic versus Shadow for example). This feature gets extended to the reward for collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds which is a boss attack through Sonic Advance 1-2, team battles from Sonic Heroes (also player versus player and I decided to add 2 extra ones not in Sonic Heroes such as Team Dark vs Team Rose just for player enjoyment), boss battles from Sonic heroes minus the lame robot carnival fights, and a fight against some of the game's contributors (a thing inspired by Reign of Satire) all while the owner of Sonic plays as Hyper Sonic. The new format idea is a good one, but it would have to require massive restructuring of the terrain, balacning, and triggers.
-My latest addition to the map (addition is a work in progress) is a password system inspired by Final Fantasy Open RPG, but is more simplistic in nature. It works as a sort of check point system where if you complete one of the areas, you get a Sonic related password that's different depending on how many Chaos Emeralds the party has found. For example, one of the passwords is -Scrap Brain
but in order to prevent abuse of this system, the triggers that activate the password system are programed to stop working if anyone enters the Sonic 1 area.

You know, in thinking about it....I think it would be cool if you implemented Tikal in there somewhere, she was always a favorite of mine.
Just a tip.

The suggestion for putting Tikal somewhere is a good one. The hard part on implementing it is how. Regardless, I'll think of some way to put her in.

sounds great, but i suggest if you're gonna make a load system, try to make it so only red can use it, because how would it be if red made the game and some guy loaded from where he wanted to be bad things would ensue. I like the idea of everone being there, but that will put in alot of pressure to make many versatile skills and things like that... and nobody's gonna wanna be amy... i dont know why i always thought of her as awesome.. but it'll be hard to make everyone balanced like that

I played your map, and I like it. The only thing that bugged me was terrain. I can do some terrain if you want, and I can provide some useful suggestions.

First of all, check the date before you post, it's like 5 months ago.

Oh? It is?
*checks the date*

Oh, you're right! I'll better close this (if anyone requests it to be opened, contact me) then. Thanks for notifying it, Windrunner. I was afraid that another oh-so-great-sonic map would come... *sigh*
First LOTR, then Final Fantasy afterwards, Diablo & Megaman, and now Sonic? Oh, please...
