http://www.orbiter-productions.com/future-ops/ Besides being a total WC3 noob, this is also my first map, so brace for impact. Like all things, I decided to get ambitious, so what it lacks in quality it at least makes up for in the innovation. :P Main inspiration was the old Starcraft Paintball maps and Team Fortress. Spent a bunch of time balancing it, but I'm still working on the few remaining minor problems and trying to improve it as much as possible. 4 objective-based game modes, 7 primary unit types (3 are heros), 40+ custom usable abilities. Everything except the creeps has been customized. Teamwork is a major focus. Looking for constructive feedback/criticism, bugs/exploit reports and new game mode ideas. Known issues: - Bug Scramble removes napalm and heals leg shots, haven't come up with a solution - Need a better base clearing method than Demolition Crews - Considering making Disarm an AOE - Bug, Bug Trap and Disarm could use better icons - When someone asks "what's this like," I still have no short answer, unless they ask "is this like DotA?" in which case the answer is "no." Complaints I'm not interested in: - Major price changes (the main income abilities match the item prices fine) - Mana/Health Fountain additions (Hospitals and Electromancers work fine) - Giving the heros moneymaking abilities (Teamwork...) |

Also, in his post he mentions the same thing. Quote:
I figured he made it obvious enough that I could make a sarcastic joke, and that the stupid looking orc would solidify it as sarcasm :). I asked about the number of players because I have a few friends online I've been playing different games with and we'd probably give this a try, but there's not really a mention of how many players (I assume there are two teams?). With all the time I've spent writing up my posts, I could have already found out... |

It's 6-12 players. The teamplay emphasis makes it get better with increasing amounts of players. Of course, you can play it with less (especially in Control mode), but I generally won't bother starting unless there are at least 3 people per team. I just updated the site with lots of info and some tiny screenshots. |
