what's this got to do w/ triggers?
please state your problem more clearly, are you talking about the object editor where you can't seem to put a proper color on a unit that you want? that would bring you into the category of having to skin

Thnx but i already have about 8 color lists like that. the digits dont match up b cuz there are 8 in W3 world editor but 6 in hex.

not quite...
the way it works is, i think AARRGGBB
AA is transperency so it should be always hhave a value of ff (hex for 255)
RR is the red channel and ranges from 00-ff
GG is the b;ue channel and ranges from 00-ff
BB is the green channel and ranges from 00-ff

so for example to make a bright red it would be FFFF0000
so full alpha, full red and no blue or green, to find the six letter code for each color you could use the link Aznwhore gave or therre are some programs (like photoshop) that you can pick acolor and it will give you the hexcode for it

You need to put an |r at the end of each section of color, and you didn't put any text in the second color bracket. I'm assuming, of course, that you copied directly.

|cff00cc88Next level|r |cffcc6600in 30 seconds|r is this wht u mean cuz that ends up with split colors i want a smooth transition.

It's possible, but you have to set the value of each character separately. I think there are some utilities that do this for you, however...

gradients are possible with for example Magos' program : http://www20.brinkster.com/magos818/
