I'm looking into making a new campaign but need so help with older warcraft storylines. At the beginning of Warcraft II (the intro cinematic) it says the orcs fled across the great sea or something. (Fled at the end of Warcraft I and are coming back to kill more humans, is what I gather) So is the great sea the ocean between Lorderon/Azeroth and Kalimdor (meaning the orcs could have fled to Kalimdor) or is it just some other ocean or and I'm just extremely confused? |

thanks for you help, but now my storyline for the campaign won't be as interesting :( I thought it might have been a different ocean than what I thought since kalimdor didn't really exsist untill warcraf 3 |

MasterBrad If your worried about night elf\kalimdor conflicts with the story, create an Elven war party that sets out to stop the orcs from attacking azeroth. Have a druid who thought he could prevent the legions being drawn back to the world. It would make a great prelude to ROC. Isn't it funny how you can find out more and more information about a topic and it narrows your ability to create a story ??? o_O ----------------------------------------- Excess is your greatest enemy |

Hmm... That could turn into an intersesting storyline slaanesh, or maybe even better have the druid trying to stop the orcs/legion from comeing for the first time. (not sure if there is story already in existence) Are the Naga night elves that were put under some curse? The war party could get ship wrecked on there way to Azeroth (meeting some demon that turns them to naga or what ever) |

So how's about: Survivors of War 1 trying to flee to Lordaeron => Orcs pursueing them => Night Elven druid trys to catch\prevent War 2 => BUT, enter the undead\demons who are the restless dead of azeroth and scouting party of the real invasion slowing the Elves. :D |

And there's one flaw with you guys' idea... None of the Druids were awakened until during the Night Elf campaign, so only the Sentinels (Tyrande, etc.) would be able to be in your plot. That is if, of course, you went according to all the information that's available, which, as Slaanesh said, tends to narrow storyline possibilities. Other than that, you guys have a good idea going there. And I don't like being an unconstructive critic, so I suppose you could just have a band of Sentinels be the center of the plot rather than Druids. Good luck, and I hope it turns out great :D |

On the flip side you could create a prarallel world and come up with your own story line, free of any constraints. Or you could attempt to rewrite the events that took place in warcraft. |

Ive done a ROC prelude before and thus practically memorised the warcraft histor (Yeah.. thats alot o readin). The Night Elves Would Have to be part of Tyrande's sentinals as the others (Durids etc) were still in the Emreld dream then (Wont go into detail about the dream). If they were turned into the Nage, this'd have to take place A LONG time ago as the naga were created awile after the first burning leaigon assult (10,000 years ago). You could always make them go into the maelstrom (In the great sea) and be corrupted by the powers of the eye of Sargares (which was still there and buried in that time). Another option is to make use of the renegade orcs that fled there during the "seige of blackrock spire" (Heh, the name of my new map!) to find the eye for the first time. They opened the cave and deamons came out and slaughtered them........ mabye make it so that the deamons and orcs find the sentinals? There are many options... the warcraft history is so dense that you can find a loophole to put a good story in almost anywhere! PM me for more info if you need it, Garith |

I think that people mostly fail to follow the storyline of the World of Warcraft, or, if they do follow it, they find it very restraining, because everyone tries to make some grand campaign where the player will determine the fate of Azeroth, Lodareon, Kalimdor and Outland combined. As garith said, you can easily put a story in somewhere, it just has to be small enough. Stop inventing huge battles and Fates of Worlds, and do a small hero quest instead. A good story isn't a good story because it has huge armies in it. Alternatively, altrough this may sound bizzare to those unable to think outside of the box, you could also not make a story happening in the Warcraft world. Invent your own, you can do comepletely new units, spells, the whole gameplay system, now isn't that a lot of fun? |

Your right about the game size needing to be scalled. I stand by the belief you can have campaigns running before, during and after official stories. Good point about the druids !! I forgot about that. :\ |
