Is it just me or are alot of the sound effects and music stolen from an excellent RPG game, Dungeon Siege? Im not one to complain but is that legal? |

Not stolen, borrowed ;) We do credit them after all in the readme. I know it is on the edge of legality, but I've been using this for some time now and they haven't complained about it. Also I'm not exactly earning money on this modification either. |

It's not on the edge, it's over it. A simple misconception people have about copyright on this kind of thing: You can't use it period. You can also not use it even if you don't make money off it. The thing is most companies don't kill mods like this since it does give em some "fame" though they can shut those projects down anytime they like. They don't sue em because there is no money in that. An example: Warcraft 2 TC for Starcraft, Blizzard only shut it down once people begun to misunderstand it for Warcraft 3 thus giving Blizzard a bad name. :) |

Well they certainly don't mind really. It's a mod, and it's not bad for business. GPG is former cavedog more or less and I know where they morals lie. Belive me, they're a much more liberal company than Blizzard. For now, I will keep it in. If they complain, I remove it. Simple as that. |

Was just pointing it out if someone read it and thought "Hey, I can use this and that and do this and that" so people know it is not exactly legal. But it doesn't matter ;) Cool mod btw. |

Thanks. Be sure to give the latest Alpha Patch a try. I need some balancing testing for some of the new stuff I've implemented as well as the overall balance between races. Go and test, then post feedback in the alphatest topic, since none other has bothered in doing so. :) |
