Hello, I was told to post this in this area. Hopefuly one of you can give me a hand. In a map that I am making, once you reach a certain 'region' (A castle/City in my map) The units in that city will fall under your control, and become your color (Red). After that, certain 'regions' will spawn different units. Region 1 - Footmen Region 2 - Archers Region 3 - Knights For each one, I want there to be a countdown timer. After each time it expires, it will start back at the alotted time to begin the countdown again. To be repeated for the whole game. Region 1 - 45 seconds Region 2 - 55 seconds Region 3 - 80 Seconds In the map there will be different outposts that will become visible on the minimap after you enter the castle and the units become yours. The farthest most outposts will spawn these units, but after the scout tower there dies, the units stop spawning and it changes to the next outpost and so on and so forth untill it reaches the castle. - Unless Red and Blue win of course. If anyone would be willing to give me a hand. PS. Later on, I'd very much like to add the Upgrade system similar to Lotr Ring Wars, that would be of great use in my map. If you don't feel like posting, please, add me to msn I am desperate. I'll give credits in the map description. [email protected] |

Err... Just wondering, but how many castles are you planning on having on the map? If you have too many, then if a person captured several castles, his/her screen would become cluttered with many countdown timers, which would be most undesired :\ |

They dont capture the place, it just gets destroyed. |

Wait, so instead of getting control of the castle, it gets destroyed? I'm sorry, but i don't understand what that means, because what you originally said was that when you capture a castle, you gain control of it and its outposts. From then on, you recieve units periodically every 45 or 55 seconds or something. Then, you want a timer to record how long it takes for units to spawn. I can see what your saying, but where does the "destroy" part come in? :( |

Alright.. The game starts off with you and another players hero on the bottom right corner. Now, you have to travel through a forest path then you run into some ghouls. After you kill them, a cinematic will come up and say "Blah blah i thought this land was purged long ago blah blah" Then You'll keep going to find a castle, a last stronghold against the undead. Once you go in and go to the king, he'll say something like.. we need a good commander blah blah. then You'll get control of the castle and all of it's outposts. Once one outpost is destroyed, it stops spawning there. - Mean while, the castle isn't spawning anything. After all of the outposts are destroyed, the castle will start spawning. |

Ok, I understand now... I thought there this was gonna be a with multiple castles spread around the map... Anyways, I went and fiddled around on the World Editor and found a way to do this, you will need to copy the triggers and put them in your map, and then change/add a few things so that it fits your map... Also, be sure to go to File-->Preferences-->General--> and then make sure that the "Automatically create unkown variables while pasting trigger data" If you need any more help or have questions, message me... Here is the example map I made :D |
