attatchment point trouble

So far in my modelling progress im coming along good. I have learned most of the basics and can create models that work ingame, however i have yet to figure out how to get attatchment points to work. I followed a tutorial online at mastersofmapmaking and renamed my points REF:Overhead Ref etc, but when i go to run my dex script and open the listener the attatchment points arent there. Any advice?

you cant really use dex to add attachment points, only works in 3d studio max with art tools. Your stuck at adding them with the hand in mdl editing. Please check and refer to existing mdl's to see how such header looks like, then CnP, but with altered objectid and parentid and pivotpoint

Hey cookie I got a question for you about attachment points too, for my model I am using geoset animations instead of using bones but I have the attachment points linked to the mesh, that didn't work so I thought maybe they have to be linked to bones, so I made bones linked them to the mesh and then linked the attachment points to the bones, and that didn't work either. The attachment point Origin Ref works it might be because it's not linked to anything, but I am mainly worried about the attachment points on the hands, and Weapon Ref.
