Guest | My mod is designed to have hero powers go over level 3, have heroes keep gaining skill points after level 10, and gives more than 5 abilities to many units. I know there was a modified game.dll that let you get skill points after level 10, but it was for the 1.03 version, and I believe 1.04 has a new version of game.dll. Does anyone know where to edit the new game.dll to increase max skill points, or know how to overcome any of those other limits? |

Guest | I heard the file that you edit the hero levels and such will not load before the map is loaded. But I have heard that you can make a full blown mod that will allow you to, sorry for lack of info. |

but you can implement it by loading it into patch.mpq and giving it to people to use as a mod for download but that dont work on b.net though |

Guest | My mod is a custom mpq type, so I can add any files I like; it has a simple batch file to rename the mod files to swap back and forth between custom and default. I have no trouble getting heroes over level 10 with miscdata. I only have trouble with the things listed in the original post: getting hero abilities to go over level 3, getting more than 10 hero skill points (level 11 and beyond they stop learning skills), and giving units more than the limit of 5 abilities each. edit: it appears to work on bnet too, as long as everyone runs the mod. |

nope sorry as of now, none of those problems have been fixed to my knowledge. though if you need a workaround, using dialogs to let them select their skills is a good alternative |

Guest | Not sure if this trick will work: try copying all the text in miscdata.txt and insert in another txt file that is loaded in the w3m. |

Have you tried to modify the maximum value for 'alev' in the new AbilityMetaData.slk file (its currently 3). Dont know, maybe it will work samsuffy. |
