Limiting Aquisition Range

I'm having a problem, because I don't want these units in my map auto-aquiring any targets at all. Yet, I want them to be ranged attackers. I've tried controlling the range by changing the aquisition range when units attack, move, etc, but that doesn't work... either the unit ends up being melee, or it's ranged and auto-aquires targets too much.

My other idea was to fiddle around with invulnerability, but invulnerability is too messy when you're changing it, and I know it can be done without it (look at the map called "We were Snipers," if you know what that is). Plus, invulnerability poses its own problems.

Anyways, I'm at a loss. Any help?

I've only attempted this once, and I don't remeber how I did it, but I think if u set it with triggers, (there is an option for units to set their acquisition range) to 0, then they will no longer target units, but they will still be ranged. Hope that works.

Thanks! It seems to work... maybe I was just setting it too low or something...

Edited because: It doesn't work. Care to elaborate? .

That's it Vex. Yeah, use the worker classification. It's perfect.

I just tried the worker classification, and it's working. However, I also heard that an aquisition range of -1 works. Does anyone else know of this? I'm gonna test it tomorrow. If it does, then it's much, much better then the worker classification (no idle buttons).

I can confirm that it doesn't work
