Server split cause..

hi all,

I didnt really know where to post this, but I have read server splits happen by stupid triggers, however in my latest map, I found a weird cause...

On my map all players would be seperated from the host on map startup. After removing all triggers, the problem still was there. After I tried removing all doodads, which wasnt the problem either. Then I removed all creeps, and there was no server split anymore. After replacing the creeps to be more apart it kept without split. However, each time I move 2 creep camps to close to eachother, wc3 creates a split... Is this problem known, and is there a way to solve it?

I've been trying to remove the server split from my map for about a year now (including 1/2 year break =)) and nobody ever told that this could be it! Thank you!!

PSSecond I'm also playing the guitar, though I'm playing a fender stratocaster. Good job!

lol, talk about reviving :) I didnt even remembered I wrote this thread. Anyway, its good it finally helped at least someone :)

p.s. fenders suck ;) gogo ibanez SZ models now!

Hmm, you probably shouldn't have posted in such an old thread.

Do you have the melee init triggers? it may be caused by trying to remove creep camps that are too close to each other for some reason.

It's also possibly that if you have them within creep camp radius, but not close enough togther to be a single creep camp that it splits for some reason trying to layout radii(sp? never actually seen that word spelled out) for the creep camps.

Are you sure that's the cause, it could be something else, I think I have a lot of camps together on my map and I only had crashes not splits.

Could be a trigger that causes the split whenever the creeps are too close or something with a specific creep type

That was just a guess based off of the data I've gotten. If we could here more data on the conditions, like the types of creeps next to each other that crashed and how close they had to be would help, but It's great that he even got down to the spacing of the creeps.

You can't make a definate conclusion without more data though.

nope.

ALL TRIGGERS were deleted. all doodads were deleted, only basic terrain and creeps were left.
When I removed the camps the server split disappeared (its a weird split, it happens at the start of the game and only the host splits from the rest)

I dont remember anything from the map since I dropped the project, so all I can say... there were like camps around each 1024 for about 1/4 of a rather large map. They were all custom creeps
