Hello everyone! since my cancellation of the way too complex eva-01, ive been working on this. It is a simple mech with a chaingun underneath the cockpit. it is meant to be one of those small mechs that are built by the thousands and have extremely low armor and health. Please leave a comment, but absolutely no flaming. ( im creating the SS and this post in a rush so as to get back to work on updates and skinning. Also im very sorry for the long loading time on the images, i went through them so fast i forgot to save as JPG) Also, I would appreciate it if someone could skin the model. I will give skin specs if/when someone wants to help.
Accumulative Time - 3-5 Hours
Current Poly Count - 376

It is too boxy and not very creative. And where have you waste all the polygones?

Not a bad design, although you may want to add more sharp-edged polygons to give it a more "machine" look. After you finish the basic skeletal design, think about adding some "armored plates" on top of the "skeleton" of the mech. Add some hydraulic rods and stuff and it will look great!

I realize the "toe" on the mech's left leg is a little disproportionate.

Something like the below:

Such a low LOD and then that huge cylinder for the chaingun? Try making that 6 sides at most.

Why did the good old tutorials who gave more indepth and detailed instructions got unstickied, and replaced with such simple tutorials...??

new foot (hopefully i wont have to change it anymore). Im going to mess with the chaingun soon to reduce polys, but it depends on school. also the poly count is around 240-ish now that the chaingun is being edited. ill say it will be around 25 when the gun is completed.

heres a basic idea of what it will look like when it is finished. i am aware of the crappy coloring as i did this in MS Paint.

Edit: Poly count at 257. model is finished (besides possible edits to do later). now to make skeleton and animations.
