Guest | hello all. I have been working on a patchfile, which will have four ramade races for a story mod that I am working on. I know how to make the new units with the editor but how do you make then in the patch files? with the story line there will be around 30 maps and if i can i want this to be able to be played(the races) on mutiplayer. This is one of the things that is messing with my mind :\ If anyone can offer an idea i would be very thankful PS: i work with the notepad not the MS spreadsheet so it is a bit harder to work it :bgrun: |

I didnt know you could do it on notepad. Well, i think that you would just have to find a letter code (eg. TEra) and use it to make the unit, or alter the codes that are already there. Everything you would want to do to them can be done through .slk files, but you gotta know the codes for what upgrades they use and what abilties they use and everything. And remeber that if you do make new units to put the .slk and .txt files you edited in the correct series of folders, or they won't work. Hopefully that helps. Good luck on your maps. Maybe you can talk to the person making the dungeon mod, because i think his game(s) uses some simular stuff your trying to do. |

yes it is possible to make entirely new unit entries with new random code, unlike spells. Just make sure that they are in both the {race}unitstrings.txt, {race}unitsfunc.txt, unitbalance.slk,unitui.slk, and unitdata.slk there may be more, but those are the ones i know u need, and those may be all |

Dont forget UnitWeapons.slk if you want an attack for you new unit and UnitAbilities.slk for spells. |

well those 2 are just extra, you can give them the spells and attacks in the we i believe or at least the spells i know, u might have to put a field i nthe weapons even if u just leave it blank |
