Just stumbled on this forum via a Google search. You can edit the AI? Sweet. I know what a difference this can often make simply from Total Annihilation which, while the editing was a hell of a lot more basic than this, made the difference between the crappy default AI (which the developers seemed to enjoy making worse with their final patch) and an AI that could put up a fight. I noticed the AMAI thread above, and so I'm already checking that out (hopefully there's something, somewhere, which explains why I should want to pick that over the default AI rather than "wow, this AI rocks!" comments, which is the norm :)). What I was wondering was if there were more AIs like this, which take over the duties of the Blizzard AI? If so, can anyone tell me anything about them, feedback, reccomendations, including the AMAI? Cheers guys, I do love AI so I look forward to giving these things a whirl... and I haven't even played the Blizzard AI in skirmish yet, still on the campaigns :) |

There was some other that was a bit customized from the original AI a while ago. But no one seems to see any point if doing another since they can't get it as customized and advanced as AMA that has been in developing for 2 years already. At least thats what they say sometimes. Would be fun if someone made another AI so me and AIAndy could get some competition. :) |

Hell, it's good to have other developers simply because new minds tend to have new ideas, and though many often turn out to be rubbish, or don't work, now and then something good that the preious teams hadn't thought of comes to the surface. But you're right. I mean, this is the sort of thing that would have interested me, but now the scene is too well developed. |
