HI I've been trying to create a hero with an ability to target more then one enemy, Im using the Dark Ranger as my Hero. I checked out the Enfo's maps and saw that there is a Hero there that has such an ability it was the Eddited Far seer, he has this ability when upgraded his attack Bounces onto the next enemy, now I tryed to do the same to my Edited Dark Ranger by first creating a new custom Upgrade then in there setting the Data - Effect 1 to Attack target count bonus then setting the Data - Effect 1 attack target count bonus increment to 1 and then the Data - Effect 1 Attack target count bonus - base to 2. Then I set up Stats - levels to 5 and the rest of the stuff in there I left unedited, well most of it. Then went over to the abilities and created a custom ability, choosing the Moon Glaive as base to work of in the custom ability I edited the Art - Caster, the Art - icon, Stats - Hero ability to true, Stats - Levels 5, Stats - Required level 1, Techtree - Check dependencies false, then settiing the Techtree - Requirements to my Upgrade I created earler, every thing else is left as was, just the Text stuff I edited further. Then I gave my Hero "Dark Ranger" the Ability which I just Created with the Abilities - Hero (attack more untis ability). Then I set my Cunstom heros Combat - Attack 1 - area of effect (Full damage). Then set the Combat - Attack 1 - area of effect targets. Then the Combat - attack 1 - Weapon type to Missile (bounce). I left the combat - Attack 1 - Maximum number of targets at 1 since I saw that the Hero in the Enfo's map also had it set up to 1. Everything else was left as it was, exept for the Text - stuff and stuff that doesnt really have anything to do with the abilities of the Hero. So then I tryed my new Hero out in a custom map of mine upgraded the ability and attacked an enemy, but it did not bounce onto any other enemies :/ arg I've searched and searched and cant find anything that might be wrong, I have even changed the combat - Attack 1 - Maximum number of targets to more then 1 but then the Hero's attack bounces from the start without the ability being trained. If anyone out there has created such an ability before, PLease Please help me here. Im going Nuts over here, trying to figure out whats wrong with my ability. Any input would really be appreciated. You have to set the spill radius for the hero's attack, try 200. Also, the upgrade won't be getting researched if you put it in the requirements for the ability. That just means you can't use the ability until you research the upgrade(and the Moon Glaive ability doesn't do anything by itself except show an icon). So, you need to setup a trigger that detects when your hero ability is learned and then set the level of your upgrade to the current level + 1. |

Just use the Upgrade Properties under scenairo. Find the custom upgrade and make it researcher. U dun't need triggers. But I tried doing what u did, only i remade it a unit, and i couldn't get it working. Very weird. |
