So I've seen a few models made with Notepad, and was wondering if someone could tell me exactly how this is done

thats called MDL editing. what ya do is basicaly extract the MDX (model file) and convert it to an MDL (yogobuls [sp?] converter somewhere in the dl section) then basicaly the whole model becomes text. dont noe much else, but for help id suggest looking in the tutorials and posting in the mdl fourms for any further help

There's a whole forum for that here. It has a tutorials sticky that could help you get started with some things. What you need to know really depends on what you're planning to do, so there isn't a lot of specific help that we can give you at this point.

Dark Alucard, your sig is over 3 megs. I and many people in this forum are on 56k modems and have zero interest in letting some animated signature slow down our downloading of other things.

Generally speaking, LARGE sigs are against site policy. They're also rude to people with slow connections and (especially in this case) kinda ugly and pointless. I have no power whatsoever in this forum, but the next person who expresses irritation may well have the power to *act* on that irritation.

Changing your sig would be both tactically wise and considerate.

Thanks ^_^

Edit: sorry for the curt tone, but I've never such a large sig before. Generally speaking, few people even top 100kb.
