I am working on an arena called Create-A-Hero Arena and already have all the attachments in WC3search. I'm looking for some more attachments. I know where to get em, too! There is LOTS of weapons in neverwinter nights and I'm sure people could recreat these weapons easy. Also, I've noticed that most models of units without weapons are pieces of garbage. I wish I could give guns to my Create-A-Heroes, but they dont have the right animations! I want 1 model of a guy with an animation for a gun and another guy with just no weapon, but make him look really cool. Thanks! ![]() |

I hate to rain on anybody's parade, and I hate to look like I'm trying to crush somebody's ambitions, but think about it a minute. Thousands of modders have had years to play with modding (and modeling for) wc3 and creating units, and yet at no point has anyone released a generic unit model that looks good with dozens of different weapons attached to it. Units in wc3 come with animations sufficient only to attack with the weapon they are drawn with. A footman, say, simply doesn't have the animations to fire a bow, swing a two handed sword, or throw a spear, and no simple fix is going to alter that. |

Flaming me for no reason doesnt make me want to stop my half done map or... whatever you're trying to... tell me what to do. I'm going to attach different types of swords to him. Maybe a mace, maybe a club, maybe a magic sword (all these attachments can be downloaded from wc3search). I can do lots of stuff with a footman unarmed, especially if you can get me one without the shield. I can attach an undead shield, a knight shield, a skeleton's shield... Ahh... the possibilities you're obviously not thinking of, Ari. Also, I've collected one helluvalot of models without weapons. One of a skelly, 2 of a footman (different-lookin), 1 of a dark ranger, and many many more. I uploaded one of the skellies. I think you think I'm a noob. I must suck, right? Check some screens from my other maps in production: ![]() OK, open the atachment. Me n my sensei discussed ur flaming and i got him to understand my need for bare models. Maybe it will help you. |

Anyway, try here for attachments. If you say which unit you want made into one with all sorts of different animation sets, someone might do it. Using the tutorials and programs here you can make your own weaponless units and isolated weapons. |

Giving a single unit multiple weapons in the same class (multiple swords, say) probably is easier, though almost certainly not a slam-dunk. I'm not sure I've seen it done, but that's certainly not to say it's not possible. Although it sounds counterintuitive, not all sword models are ideal for attachment to a weaponless sword-wielding model (probably what you're getting at when you say that weaponless models look weird). A footman, and, say, a blademaster (and certainly the model you attached) hold (and swing) their swords in different ways and the swords themselves are of different shapes and positioned differently relative to their bodies. Though I haven't played around with it too much, I'd say that removing the sword of a unit, and then adding another weapon via trigger will be *close* to the original look, but maybe a little odd looking. If I had to guess, I'd say that's why Blizzard never even bothered to do a mix-and-match type system for its models (though if Brett or any other blizzard staff member is reading this by some odd chance, *cough*, it wouldn't hurt to implement that in some later game). Anyway, having said all of that, I certainly wish you the best of luck. No offense was intended, but I still think this is going to be much more difficult than you seem to think it will be. |

Oinkerwinkle, I think you failed to mention animation transfers. If you want the unit to have animations of firing a weapon, attacking with a sword, etc, get the animation transferer on Oinkerwinkle's website. |

No-one actually gave specific details for such unit model in the first place though. Ari it is quite easy to do such generic unit if correct information has been provided, but for practical reasons (holy **** big size in kb due animations) it might be still a bummer. Might have to add the fact that Drax was plannin on a multi animated hero, but due real life issues hes hampered from that one). IF you ever gonna continue that tactics system I would gladly provide you a multianimated model (gosh, I wonder why no-one used my mdx to max tutorials? you could easily just merge and create such unit for yourself...) Again, anything is possible when there is imagination (or time) |
