Skin problem.

I have created a model for Lands of Archanor and it works fine, but i don't know how i can put the skin on it.

I tried some things in the .mdl file but it didn't work it just shows up grey.

You'll have to be more specific. Tell us what programs you have used and post your files you've gotten so far.

If it's showing up grey in the WE and the geometry is all fine, then your program is with your texture, not your model. Post it and someone should be able to say what's wrong.

have you done the uvw mapping?

3dsmax- uses Texporter
Milkshape - Uses Lithunwrap

file export: you have 3dsmax and use teh Arttools? if not you have Milkshape and export your uvw mapped model from lithunwrap into .3ds and convert it into an mdl ad teh right texture name in teh mdl and convert it to .mdx


there can be manny things wrong your relay should upload your model and texture are give us more informations so taht we can help you

I have made so that the model will use Textures\Sentinel.blp (huntress). I have written over the huntress skin with the new models skin, but when i watch the model in we it has no skin.

The normal huntress model uses my new skin so it cant be anything wrong at the skin.

This is a picture of the model. The two huntresses are using the skin the model is supposed to have.

Well... if you came to the MDL forum for a reason..

1. Convert your model to mdl format from mdx, set the path to Textures\myskin.blp

2. Get O.W's vertex modify and open your model.

3. Go to the Tools menu and find UV Mapper.

4. The rest is explanatory.

Another problem i have just found is that when i change the path in the mdl it wont work when i try to put my custom path there.

If i open it in WC3Viewer and selects used texture names it shows nothing.
That was why i made it use the huntress path.

...The veiwer wont show ur custom paths unless they are the exact path used by a model, if you used one of your own skins then you HAVE to test it in WE.

When i test in the WE it shows no skin at all. :( Just like the picture i posted earlier.

Can someone tell me what exactly you need to do in the mdl file to make a geoset use a custom skin.
