Recommendations for 1st level

My orc hero, like all the others, doesn't like the internment camps. My original idea for the first mission was to (like in the original and RoK) just have your guys go on a rampage and free lots of orcs.

The problem is, as I mentioned, everyone has done this with their orc campaign. If it is an original level design, would you really mind very much if it were just another "run amok freeing orcs" level? If the rest of the campaign is very original, would a kinda hackneyed first level be a huge turnoff?

There are alternatives, but I do want to have something involving the hero building up his forces and saving orcs from humans.

So! Opinions please!

Blergh, it is overdone!

Want an idea to work your story? Make the introdutory cinematic showing the hero saving the orcs. Now, the mission is: escape with the freed forces from the humans' pursuit! You must escape with a minimum number of alive troops, and the enemy can spawn new units to pursue you...

Also, you could place traps in the escape route and give plenty of hazzards to halt the escape!

What do you think?

I think that that is exactly what I will do. Great idea. I'll make the mission to escape into the wilderness. Maybe you'll have to warn some small orc villages of the human retribution on its way, too. Once again, thanks alot. That works for me on so many levels. mmmm.......

If you need any other ideas, just ask, and I will help. I am full of them! :D
