Skins don't come out right...

After editing my first skin, I saved it (24 bit uncompressed tga), opened it again with the Image Extractor, but the picture had a heavy blue tint (nothing like what I wanted it to look like). I followed one of the tutorials exactly, so i'm not quite sure what i'm doing wrong, anyone have any ideas?

Btw, this is what it looks like when i try to reopen it with the extractor

Thats the problem. The image editor i'm using only has 8,16, and 24 bit. Is there a good free image editor i could use?

EDIT: The skin looks that way because its messed up, as I said on my first post, so ya it does look horrible

You're using PSP 8 am I right? If so, you will have to use warcraft 3 viewer to do your converting. PSP 8 saves TGAs oddly.

but your skin has an alpha channel and this requires the 32 bit,
get Photoshop! i skinned over 2 years with PSP8 and now i use Photoshop and it rock much more you can use so great and powerful filters and can make great effects, and also its no problem to work with alpha channels and to save working tga´s

Filters are bad. WACOMs are good.
