ALSO IVE BEEN READING SOME HALF LIFE MODEL TUTORIALS AS WELL, THEYVE HELPED ME BUT I COULD USE SOME HELP FROM SOMEONE THAT I CAN ASK QUESTIONS, I DONT JUST WANT TO READ AND AT A PART I DONT UNDERSTAND START GUESSING

Alright everyone I am having troubles putting textures on my models. I'm going to post my WHOLE Method on what I'm doing and someone whos good at this will tell me whats wrong.

Alright First Off heres my Model...

I want to make a texture for the model so it looks like a statue in Wc3 so I went in Photoshop 7. And I made a 128X128 Texture using the Gradiat tool, saved it as a Targa File, 32 Bit and tried to apply it to my model. The first picture is of paintshop pro, the second is of the material bar, and the third one if how it looks...

Aznwhore
get gmax and use my tut on my sig. if you don't want to read my tut, don't bother
not sure what you're using but it looks like milkshape.
you didn't even unwrap the model, how's it gonna apply when the texture doesn't have your coordinate points?

If you didn't get it working just yet, I'd suggest slightly redoing the texture a bit. It is mainly one color with a gold stripe on it, so if you applied this texture to the model, it would mainly be that one color with the goldish stripe on it. Maybe make the gradient have 2-3 different stripes?

Btw, yes, unwrapping is completely necessary, however since the model is formed all into one group, it really won't matter which way you unwrap it. Unwrapping in different ways will do nothing but determine which side of the model will have the stripe on it.
