Neutral Unit Modification???

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any help...

I would like to make some of the neutral units available for the different races to build. What is the best way to do this in terms of editting the SLKs and text files. I know which files to edit and how to edit them more or less, but a how do I assign one of these neutral units to a race??? Right now they are deliniated like nban for the bandit. If I wanted the human race to be able to build bandits, how would I go about allowing that??? Would I first add an h to it to make it hban and move it from the neutralunitstrings etc to the humanunitstrings.txt?? And then just make the changes to (for example) Unitabilities.slk to look like hban a2 Human Bandit _ Adef 1????

Does that seem plausible?

Hi,
although I am a newbie to this stuff, couldn't you just do in map editing like go to the unit editor find the structure that u want to build the nut. unit with and add it? Like having a H. Barracks build a nerubian spider. Then all you have to do is edit what you want the spider to have and change cost values and such. If you need more info i can provide it im just really tired right now and i want to sleep.:ggani:

I could do it that way, but I want to make the units available on all of my maps.

I completely understand this means editting the war3patch.mpq and this also means I can't play on Bnet against people without the same patch etc. I am just wondering how to do it.
