im not sure if this belongs in the modellin or skinnin so im juss puttin here... i modelled my own missile, and i want it to be really shiny, like warcraft 3 spell shiny w/ glows nd stuff... however, when i put my skin on....i added soo much dodge, it still doesnt have the same shiny feel...like the glowing type things got any suggestions? |

umm... add less dodge :P you could use a particle emitter i guess... but i don't know if that's what you mean. You're using max, right? |

if ur using art tools, in material editor, under extended parameters, put they type additive. this gives a really good glow |

yea. you need particle emmiters. get oinkerwinkle's particle emmiter tool here theres a tutorial on how to use it also (on the same site). have fun! -flames' and im NOT plagarizing oinkerwinkle's stuff, im directing him in the right direction. thank you. |

thnx guys, im starting to get used to the particle system thing and the additive thing, but then i wanted to make like a beam taht kinda extends like a dragonball beam w/o releasing from the users hands untill it hits the target. i wanted to make the whole thing really glow bright, kinda like the chain lightning i have to use ribbons to do this rite? but i have no idea how set up a ribbon properly...like do i make a ribbon taht attaches to a plane? a box? what textures im suppose to use for each? nd how do make it stretch fro a reallly long time nd be thick from all directions u look at from? also i wanted it to explode as the death animation, but im not sure what particle i would use for something of that sort. this is kinda an example what i wanted user ----------------> T the fired beam Target nd after it hits O O user O O O explosion wow this is long.... thxn for ur help |
