Hey guys, got a question regarding the sky size of a map. I have resized a map to about 4 times its' normal size.. this of course including Camera Bounds... but the only thing that didn't change along in size, was... the sky. Now, even in Game View mode, if I zoom out far enough, you can clearly see the 'box' of sky on my map... which will severely limit me in taking good screenshots. How do I change the size of the sky? |

during the editor, to change sky distance simply hold ctrl and wheel ure mouse wheel. Be careful zooming out too far tho, as you can see the sky box (which looks stupid) it cant be done in game to my knowledge however. |

Yes, but that's what I'm talking about. The SKy Box. How do you change the size of the sky box? |

No can do, this is for a terrain challenge. I can't use triggers. It's just for in the editor, to take screenies. :\ |

the simple way to do this is to take the pic you want, then take a pic of the edge of a blank map with the smae sky, then use photoshop to edit in the sky properly |

AS I SAID. TO ZOOM THE SKY BOX OUT HOLD CTRL AND SCROLL THE MOUSE WHEEL. (Pgdown and Pgup can work instead of mousewheel i think) What i meant was if u scroll out too far you can actually see the "boxyness" of the sky, which look stupid. |

You're missing the point. Due to my resizing, I now have a sky box of a 64 x 64 map, on a map of 96 x 96. As a result, the box of the sky is very limited in height and location. The box, as it were, does not encompass the entire map, but only the center of it. I know you can zoom out the skyline with CTRL + scroll, but that's not what I needed. |

you have totally lost me, by pressing ctrl + scroll the skybox is moved away from the camera. It is always the same size (try it) i made a huge map and a small map, the skybox when zoomed out was exactly the same in every case, why do you want the box itself to be bigger exacty? |

Well, because my terrain is rather high. And I know something with the sky got screwwed up when I resized the map. The location of the sky box seems wrong, and even though I -can- scroll the mousebutton to zoom the sky out, it gets blocky and edgy rather easily. No matter though. |

ah, are you using a 3rd party thing to increase the max height, thats why. There was a good reason bliz didnt allow you to go over about 14 cliff levels high, you hit the sky box. I suggest you try and make the whole thing lower and use optical illusions and special effects to make it look taller than it really is. |

Third party, no... just that UI txt file. >:P Anyway, I guess that's it, or at least, part of the problem. Thanks. ![]() |

the UI text file is good enough, as i said, it allows u to go further up than blizzard intended, thus allowing you to go thru the top of the skybox. |
