Warhammer emulation using Warcraft

Im thinking about using the warcraft world editor to make a map based on the warhammer tabletop game but with aspects of warcraft also involved. I originally thought of making an exact remake of the turn based style combat featured in warhammer using the triggers in warcraft but i think a hybrid of the 2 games would be much more enjoyable to play.

So now i want to know A:) if anyone is interested in playing such a game and B:) if theres anywhere i can find a complete list of the definitions of the variables in the unit editor to see what tools i have to use. Im relatively new at the map editing scene but have some experience of rudimentary C++. Also it'd be usefull to know if the editor rounds figures in the game on a normal maths basis or always rounds down ignoring the numbers after the decimal place.

To ANYONE with any immature comments about the game warhammer please piss off and take youre childishness somewhere else : )

We of Runic Arts had an idea to try this as part of Storm of Chaos, one of our projects..... our forum link's in my sig. We ran out of ideas on how to do it (none of us being great triggerers once Doc left), but basically what we were going to attempt is this:

Player has direct control only over his Lord unit (a WC hero)

Deployment by use of buildings for Core, Special, Rare and Hero units that produce one WC unit to represent a WH regiment; when battle commences, these are replaced by a full regiment of troops

Actual battles taking place in real-time with the Lord having a book of battle commands (spellbook ability) that would allow him to issue specific commands to regiments during the battle or ttake direct control of some regiments for a period of time

------

Lack of triggerer meant that this has stagnated somewhat. We have some WH models, and we're steadily producing more; we have a full demo planned out and terrained as well as sketchy details on a full plot (this was meant for a single-player campaign; multiplayer wasn't ever brought into consideration though it'd be nice to see). However, we can't replicate WH battles because we have no skilled triggerers.

If you manage to get something working on this, mind giving us a heads-up?

Anyway..... some of your questions: I think WC rounds integers normally but I'm unsure. However you could probably ignore real values for most of a WH recreation and just use integers (meaning rounding wouldn't be an issue).

By unit editor, do you mean Object Editor? In which case most of the values there are fairly self-explanatory. I've no idea if there's a list of descriptions for them anywhere; try the Tutorials section.

You might also want to have a look at theJ89's trigger explanation guide which is immensely useful (if somewhat long).

I started a Warhammer RPG when I first came here and produced a lot of custom graphics in the theme of Warhammer. Since then, we've redone the project, but its more of a Warbands vs sim Village RPG, than a turn-based battle system.

If your project needs graphics help, or any kind of ideas and support from Warhammer people, visit my site.
