Attention Skinners! Hear me out!

Allright. First of all I'd like to say that i am not one of the countless people who doesn't have a concept of what they're doing and wants people to do things for them. You would be the third person to be in on this, I am the one who is doing all the triggering and working on learning jass for the sake of ai scripts a bit down the road. My brother uses 3ds max and has learned alot. He will be doing modeling and animations.


The concept

Like so many others we will be doing the AoS style of map. Why will ours work when countless others have failed? We know what seperates the good from the great maps. We can tell you why bloodbath in paridise failed while tides of blood still goes strong. I am mostly a melee wc3 player. I've played more games than I'd like to admit and am currently level 34. Suffice to say i understand the game. My brother is an avid player of tob. We know what makes a game fun and will stay true to that. We each grew up playing video games, and have 10+ years of experience with them. We will we be working continously and after release, to achieve a balanced map that people enjoy playing.

What makes our map stand out

We are taking the time to build custom models (map size limit permitting), entirely from scratch, for all our heros. We are focusing on fun to play, unique heros for each side. When possible the play styles differ greatly from those you'd see in your average dota. Because there is such a wealth of unique characters in video game history that is typically where we are drawing from. We put our own creativity into each hero and won't be held back by trying to stay too true to the game that character is from. We are also implementing many 'dual-techs' based on the combination attacks from Crono Trigger. These will all be done during gameplay when 2 spells or effects meet. They will require timing and good teamwork to use properly. Games we are drawing from include: Earthbound, Final Fantasy, Crono Trigger, Guilty Gear.

What we're looking for

Because of the size and goals of the project we will not accept anything but the best. We will need to see samples of your work, and will meet with you to give you a better understanding of the map. We are, however, open to suggestions and any comments you have on heros, items, spawnies, etc. However we are very picky about what the map is and will not accept anyone telling us to put in +80 damage items (on your average AoS damage scale), regardless of how good your skinning is.

We want a general commitment of 4-8 hours a week spent on skinning. Anymore would be great but we have a lot to do and can only put it together so fast.

Erm... skinners only know now what makes your... map special. Why not give some more detail? I just read it and I don't know what your guys are making (I just woke up, so I might have mis-read some stuff)

Oh a little side note...
It is not so special to have "10 years of video game experience" because you make it sound like you're proud on it. Also, the "differences" from games.

Well... I'll be seeing what happens here...
