Positive Buff / Negative Buff

I don't suppose there's any way to make buffs appear positive or negative? Like make the Roar buff a debuff spell against enemies.. the name of the buff should be red, not green?

It's annoying to have auto-dispell abilities screw up your custom buffs/debuffs.

the only thing I could think of to try is to take a spell/ability like Cripple for instance, convert it to AoE and swap out the icons so that it is like a Negative Roar. interesting question.............I'll hunt around a bit and see if I can find any other options, if I do Ill post them.

but try that.........you might not need any other options!

Well, it's not only for Roar, I just used that as an example. I mean, all of us mapmakers who like to do custom abilities must've used at leats once a negative spell to have positive effects, or a positive spell to have negative effects, right?

yeah Ive made a couple myself.....you pretty much have to use some roughly similar spell/ability and then change the values and icons. but to get a Debuff to show up as a Buff or vise versa........I dont think can be done. the point is, choose a model spell/ability that is a Debuff, then change the Stats and values and icons and effect art so it looks like the Buff you are negativizing.

or am I misunderstanding the question?

Partially. No matter what buff is used, if it's for a spell that is based upon a negative spell, the buff is seen as negative, and is automatically removed by something like Abolish Magic. I'm trying to work around that.

ah I think I c now....so you are trying to circumvent the game system basically? cause stuff like Abolish magic is SUPPOSED to do that........thats good that it gets removed means it working :D at least for me.......

anyways, you could give the spell a side bonus of Anti-MAgic Shell.......that would stop it. they may be another way, Ill look into it in a bit (I have to go now lol).
