Hey folks. Trying my first hand at some model editting here, but I'm running into a bucketload of problems already. Here's what I have done: I want to make a NE Warden Statue, like the Sentinel and KotG statue. First, I deleted the Keeper of the Grove statue from it's socket. I saved the socket as KeeperStatue_Base. Secondly, I made a quicky custom greenish skin for the Warden. I exported the Warden Model, and in MDL notepad editing, removed all her animations but Stand. Also, in its animation listing, I changed the number from 12 to 1. Then, using Oinkerwinkle's geoset merge, I combined the two mdl's, using the KotGstatue socket as a base, and merging it with the Warden. The following is what happened. o_O AIEEEE. Wherever I place the custom doodad, the Warden, and all of those blp's of her skin stacked against her, appear in the exact center of the map, or randomly on one of its' corners. Needless to say.. madness. What am I doing wrong? :\ |

It looks like you need the vertex modifier from here. Those planes that have the warden texture previously used to glow texture. Open the model with that program (there are tutorials one the site that should get you started) and delete the glow planes. You can also move things so that the block is positioned correctly. |

Hail Oinker. Hail. I'll get started on that, yet are you sure it'll also solve the second half of my problem? Wherever I place the custom doodad, the Warden appears in the exact center of the map, or randomly on one of its' corners. The Statue's socket, however, appears on the spot where I place the doodad correctly. |

Woops, I missed the second half. I'm guessing that the it's related to vertex groups. Can you upload your MDL? Did you use the statue base as the 'base' model when merging or the Warden? If it was the statue, then (in the vertex modifier) open the warden geoset, select all the vertices (CTRL-A), and go to Tools->Assign Vertex Group and choose 0. |

I don't know , but usually you would like the warden to be in a more interesting pose than just standing there |

I'm just starting with modelling. No idea how to use a different pose. |
