Disclamer: This is not a mod that is being made or will probaly ever be made, I just didn't have anything better to do on a staturday after noon. Although, if anyone wants to make this a mod I will gladly help and let you use my ideas. Also I didn't steal this from anyone and if there is a similar race out there I don't know about it and if it is first and too close I will delete this thread. History: After Illidan's defeat he was rescued and brought back to Dreanor, in Draenor the Blood elves, as they were still calling them selves. The Naga realized that Illidan couldn't heal in the chaotic desert of Draenor so, the Naga decided to return to the oceans of Azgoroth. The Elves didn't want to return to the horror of that world, and the sadness of the losses of their race was still strong in their hearts, because of this the Elves decided to stay. Life was hard because of the rampant demons, and the harsh environment. Over time the Elves came to rely on magic for almost everything; therefore, their powers and civilization grew to such a degree that even The Lords of the Burning Legion to notice. At first the demons tried to bend the Elves to their will, much like they had done with the Orcs, but the elves had made a pact forbidding having dealings with demons, because of this the demons were unable to find a willing vassal. Because their pact the Elves cut off all relations with the remaining Naga and Illidan. The elves mastered the magic of trans dimensional travel, and were able to traverse through many worlds and even the Void it's self. The Legion worried that they might attack so the Legion released a massive assault on the Elves strong hold. The Elves fought hard and didn't surrender and the Legion inured many casualties, but the elves couldn't hold them off and at the end Keal was struck down by Kil'Jeaden him self, but the wounds that Kil'jaeden had suffered at the hands of Keal caused him to flee the field of battle screaming in pain and anger. This sight caused the battle to halt; the Elves took their chance and forced the disheartened demon back in to their portal. In the Void Kil'jaeden felt that the threat had been dealt with, so he didn't plan another attack. Many of the Elves had survived the battle, and they feared that another attack was to come so, they abandoned their city. The Elves quickly chose a new leader, Tellem Sunfire, he was christened Tellem Demonbane because of the countless demons he felled. Tellem lead the remaining Elves deep in to the mountains of fire hoping that the Demons wouldn't follow. They finally came to a place that was secure enough for Tellem's liking. At this location they set up their camp, they named it Refuge. Among the survivors it was believed that the reason for the demon attack was not their power and numbers, but that an elf betrayed them to the demons. Because of this believe the elves grew increasingly hostile to one another. So Tellem's council passed a law that said one could not kill an unarmed aponnet. Tellem decided that because their numbers were so small that every Elf must be able to defend him self with magic alone in case of another demon attack. So the elves began enslaving lesser demons, that still roamed the lands, to do their work for them, the lesser demons made perfect slaves because they were easy to control and strong. So their civilization grew again, the elves grew in power once more. They resolved to get revenge on the demons for all their hardships. Tellem decreed that they would need more power so they sought out magical artifacts to gain power from. Some elves were born with out the ability to use magic and theses elves were despised and used as cannon fodder. The Either Wizards were masters of inter dimensional travel, these wizards are used an every thing from scouts to the backbone of an army. The Either Wizards were sent out to scout out a poorly defend demon world when they finally found one, The Elves resolved to attack. Using the Either Wizard's power they ripped a hole in space the opened right in the middle of the largest demon stronghold on the legion world, the battle raged for hours, the battle finally ended with Tellem killing the greater demon lord that controlled the fort. It was discovered that in this demon lord's possession there was a powerful magical artifact. The artifact was an Urn of the very essence of magic, as the elves drank of this substance and they found their powers increased. Tellem said it was folly to linger in this place, so they returned to their city with the Urn in tow. With they're new found power the elves knew they could survive the hardships over their home world, and many longed to return to the forests that they loved so much. In the first foray of the Elves back to Azeroth they came upon a battle between the forsaken and some humans, the elves remembered their hate of the undead and set upon them and destroyed them. The elves appearance had been altered by their long years in the ruins of Draenor, their hear was red, they remained slender and tall, few used swords, their clothing was light, they wore little armor, their skin remained tan, but it had a slight undertone of red. But the Elves remembered the racism of Garthios, so they left before the humans could thank them. The forays became more and more frequent, the Orcs, humans, and forsaken found out more and more about them. The humans would have made an alliance with them but some of the more wild elves attacked and killed human settlements, the Orcs fought them because the Forsaken are the sworn enemies of the Dreanor Elves, the name came from the fact that they weren't blood elves anymore so they named them after the place they came from. The Draenor elves made a couple strongly guarded settlements in the surviving woods of Quel'thalas.... That's it thanks for reading it, I know I am not a very good writer but oh well what can I do, you guy guys like it I might post some of my ideas about the race, units and heroes. If you care. Edit: I fixed the spelling, added paragraphs and changed some bits. I hope it will be a lot easer to read, thanks for your comments. |

Well, I just wrestled through all that... a few tips: Less 'and' and more paragraphs. Now, the idea isn't all that bad, really, but I know everyone will want to (and probably will eventually) see Blood Elves in WoW. Heck, they said warlocks would eventually be able to open the Dark Portal again. Also, what you've done is minimizing a race's numbers, but making each unit a magical powerhouse, aside from their 'cannon fodder'. Not much room there for say, WC3 "tier 2" units. |

I can jsut see the trailer for that expansion pack th camera rolls over azeroth and then the cheesy american narrator comes in (no offence but it is always the same guy) and says "they thoguht it was locked away for ever" then it flashes to a groups of warlocks casting a spell then back to a differnet rolling camera perhaps over kalimdor "but now it is about to be opened" then it will go back to the warlocks and they will open the portal accomapnied by some really creepy choir kinda thing sining in a wierd language getting louder and louder the camera will then zoom in though the portal when you come face to face with a draenai the music stops instantly and it says "welcome to outland" in a creepy voice and then the world of warcraft logo clamps across the screen. Thnak you and good night ps. blizzard if your looking for an advertising manger im your man..well not quite im only 14..... |

well, as a Blood Elf civ, he could use the Dragonhawk riders, Spell Breakers, and some of the archer, priest, etc art from the TFT campaign, and he could use some of the building models from the RoC campaign. but hasnt someone already made the Blood Elves? I mean I suppose he could use Draenei units as well, but that wouldnt look right I dont think. but yes, think it thru.....and work on using more paragraphs! try to make a complete list of any and all units (and heroes) you would LIKE to use, as wel as a list for buildings and one for spells/upgrades. then make another list for Upgrades. then post that and start crossing off stuff. cause I garruntee you, you WILL have too much stuff for one civ. then you can start thinking about doing it in the Editor. |

I can't do all this in the world editor, I am just a very bad skinner and an artist. |

I got news for ya.......you CAN do it. I am making a Draenei civ as my first scenario. it was a little rough at first, but its actually pretty easy....cept for a few areas. its funny, by working in the editor and learning how the game actually works Ive improved my regular gameplay quite a bit. huh, who'da thunk it? anyways, by being a skinner/artist, you will have no problems making the custom skins and art a good civ needs. and, once you dive into it, the WE isnt that bad. |
