you cant really teach skinning its just something that comes naturally like drawing a picture everyone has their own style and you should figure out yours but you can look at the stickied "Skinning techniques" or something like that and that will have small tutorials on how to make some cool textures and things. also dont use paint to skin |

You will need Wc3veiwer and Photoshop, for skinning you just need to know basics til you fully understand it and start to build up your own style, for example my style is usually very dark and evil while some one like Garnogal has a style of making his skin super High-Res and very pro looking. You need to know how to use the following things in Photoshop: - Burn and Dodge (important for shading and doing alot of other work) - Smudging (remodelling parts and so on) - Sharpen (used for unblurring your work) - Blur (your not stoopid are you??? LOL) - Lasso (SP?) (selecting parts and working on them eg, shoulder pads - Filters (giving finishing touches or making cool ass looks) You can also use the techniques thread which I dunno where it is now Just ask questions here and we will help as much as possible. Words Of Advice: Dont re-colour, Dont Copy and Paste and certainly DO NOT EVER CnP someone elses work and claim it as your own. |

if you say DO NOT RECOLOR to a guy that have never skinned before. well, i have skinned for some months and i still think its VERY hard to have a good looking skin without it beeing a recolor, hmm maybe i need to read more tutorials. but whatever i suggest you start with simple recolors then go more and more freehand ;) |

open up wc3viewer, find the skin you want to work on in the mpq, then extract it as a tga... blps dont work in photoshop. once you're done, convert the tga you worked on into blp. |

Use a program like word pro (that's just what I use) to write the script in there so the misspelled words are highleted automatically and it gives you a choice of words that match what your trying to type, its a great way to prevent misspells. Oh and 1 questing about the skin, well i made it (doesent look GORRIBLE tho ) but i wanted to ask, can i make it so the skin's blps wont be semetric well what i mean is, eem i duno how to explane it, here are screenies to show you. (i want the blood to be only on ONE side not on both sides) |

Heey! that's not so ba- ok i wont lie , it couldv been worse xD well now you figured out how to skin, just mess around with some skins :P then try to ''''freehand'''' some.. :) and btw if you only want there to be 1 bloodsplat make it in the middle, so when it gets mirrored its only 1 big bloodsplat on his tummy, lol :) that would be ugly.. ![]() |
