How can you get a unit to damage all units in line with its attack? I used artillary (line) and added aoe damage and all targets possible and it still doesn't work. I've tried everything I can think of - even giving skill vorpal blades didn't work. If anyone knows how to do this please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Maybe not exactly what you need, but try doing this:
Make a custom unit ability off of the "Shockwave" ability.
Modify the "Orb of Lightning (New)" skill to be a unit skill, replace "purge (item)" with your modified shockwave. Give it a 100% to cast on units, heroes, and summons.
Give the modified Orb of Lightning ability to your unit/hero/tower in question.
See the results.

Like I said, maybe not exactly what you needed, but if you need this for a tower defense type of map, this solution's as good as any. ^_^

you're on the right track but you need to change more unit properties. use the glaive thrower as a base unit (for testing) and give him 200 in the 'Damage Spill Distance' field.
That should do it. (I think) After that you can just edit the glaive to form the unit you need.

I tried that and I still can't get this to work. If anyone knows how please help me. I thought a glaive already can attack in line but it doesn't seem to be doing it. I dunno...

I'm not sure about this as I'm not at my home computer at the moment, but I believe you need to give the unit the Vorpal Blade Upgrade. Not ability. The ability (as far as I know) is just eye candy for the user.

that or you can take the vorpal blade ability and take away the dependancy on the upgrade. It's in dependencies field and required upgrades.

No my point is that the ability actually has no effect. So removing the dependency wouldn't do anything. If you look at the upgrade, one of it's effects should be something along the lines of 'Apply Line Damage' or something. I'm not certain of the exact name.

**EDIT: I just opened the WE and looked into it. The upgrade for vorpal blades gives the unit an attack spill distance of 200. So if you just use spill distance initially you can probably avoid having to use the upgrade (Note: Spill Distance, not Spill Radius).**

Yeah use the 'damage spill distance' field, that's exactly what I already said :D
