Is my armor/weapon upgrading really working? Wha Wha Waa!

Here is a copy of my map. I cannot understand why my armor/weapon upgrading isn't working. At least it is working in that i can upgrade five times (the max i have it set to) and it shows up on the unit, but it doesn't affect the armor or damage of the unit when you actually put it to the test. Here is a copy of my map. The weapon/armor upgrades are avialable at your base and you can use the marines to test it out. When you start the map it will tell you that you won, just click on Continue, and continue with your testing. Thanks.

Ok, i haven't had much expirience with upgrades, but have you though about looking for how much the upgrade adds? In starcraft, you had to pick how much armor you got upgraded per level. I think it would be on a unit.

Well I can't really go with your suggestion much since you really didn't suggest any solution. I understand you were trying to suggest a general idea but I cannot run with it. I cannot apply it. Does anybody know this?

Are you sure that the unit actually uses the upgrade. Check in the unit editor. I think there's a field like 'Upgrades Used' or something like that.

Another thing. I'm not sure because I haven't edited upgrades yet, but you may have to change the unit .slk(s)

The unit shave their own .slk's? If thats the case then maybe but I have never read anything about that before. I have changed the units to use the upgrades. Well the marine. But it isn't workin ;( PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!

Simple- in the unit editor a couple spaces above the attack section there is one called "Defense Upgrade Bonus". This will modify how much you gain per upgrade

how about an attack upgrade bonus. Is there a way to control that? I don't see a field like that.

I guess you just can't control how much a weapon upgrade changes, but it still will add some damage at least.

The upgrades you are using are orc upgrades, but the marine is a
human unit. Upgrades only work for their corresponding race (but
will still increment the "upgrade number", just with no
real effect). To fix this either use an orc unit as the base for
the marine, or use human upgrades, or (since you are already
editing the upgrades) edit the upgrades from orc to human.

Also, the amount of damage gained from an upgrade can be changed. In most cases (check the slk file, theres a field that determines exactly what the upgrade does), the upgrade simply adds another damage die. So if the unit had base damage of 10, with one die with 10 sides, his normal attack would be 11-20. With level one upgrade his damage would be 12-30 (base 10 with two 10 sided dice). If you need help with the way damage dice work, there have already been numerous posts about it, so just search around.
